I had a friend in my seventh grade class and she had only half of a heart and she was on a transplant list and she was about to get one and her condition went spiraling downward. She was put in oxygen and four days later she passed away. She was one of my best friends. One day she came up to me and she said, "Abby I hear the angels calling me." Within the next 30 minutes she passed away. I will never forget that the moment I heard that she passed away I was out in the garden, and a butterfly landed on my shoulder. I will always remember that day. My best friend.

So true. My mother is 86 years old and not a very nice human being. She whinges about her age and I ask her ‘what’s the alternative? DEATH’ but it doesn’t stop her being a self centred narcissist, too scared of death to live.

@@Midnightmidway Who the HELL are you to make an outrageous assumption about a person I have known for over 50 years and you have never met? I could write an entire book about my sociopathic mother’s systematic abuse during my childhood and early adult years. She’s a bigot, a snob and just plain malevolent. Both my brother and I wouldn’t let her be around our respective children when they were younger because she was so vile to them. Not everyone is nice in the real world and just because someone gives birth doesn’t mean they become a wonderful, caring “mother”.

Hoo HAH Sad how people don’t know the reality of death, if they knew they would definitely spend their life as God told them to. Heaven/paradise is only for those who hear and obey God’s commands. Some ignorant People think before you die make the most of this life and do everything you want before you go, little do they know if they live their life other than the way God ordered them it will land them in eternal hell and severe punishment in the grave till the day of judgement and at the time of death the most scariest horrible looking foul scented angels will come to rip the soul out. It will be torture n torture. If anyone wants to read what happens when someone is dying and what happens in the grave and afterlife just ask me, I’ll give you proofs

"The decision to be positive is not one that disregards or belittles the sadness that exists. It is, rather, a conscious choice to focus on the good and to cultivate happiness - genuine happiness. Happiness is not a limited resource, and when we devote our energy and time to trivial matters and choose to stress over things that ultimately are insignificant... from that point, we perpetuate our own sadness, and we lose sight of the things that really make us happy, and we rationalize our way out of doing amazing things." --Christopher Aiff

I'm planning on writing this quote on the largest of canvas papers, in large decorative fonts with patterns and water colours, making it as vibrant and lively as possible, then hang it within my visual field when I do my morning yoga, so I wake up every morning remembering what is truly important in life. This kid has amazing spirit. I love when he jumps off the balcony into the pool & moons the camera at 5:20! Such a typical "young guy" thing to do! That's awesome. As a cancer patient myself, I totally understand his aim of really living life while he still can. "Cancer Patient" can easily become your whole identity if you let it. So glad he's not letting that happen. And kudos to his parents for not trying to hold him back out of worry or wanting to keep him at home with them. Very special family.

It's so hard to watch a young person be it male or female not have a chance to live a full life and it's amazing to watch this young man decide to live every second until his last breath with only the good and the happy. He truly knows what the gift of life really is. I don't think we can fully understand because we are alive and doing well. I'm 55 years old and I have done things in my life that most people will never have a chance to do and when I watch this man decide to make every last second of his life count it makes the things I have done look small because what he has done with the time he has left is completely amazing. I could only wish I had the strength that this man has I don't think I have ever admired anyone as much as this man. Watching this has truly awoken something inside me and when a person can do that then they have left a change for the good behind for all the world to see. May God Bless You and may God be there to greet you through the gates of heaven..

On my personal experience. It's very hard to find peace. My son passed away 3 months ago and I don't know how to move forward. I tried but I can't. I try to celebrate his life but reality hits me very hard and I get depression.

Absolutely Beautiful! I am the biggest fan of everything touched or thought of by Justin Baldoni. This show is a gift and thank you to all that believed in it and brought it through to final product. I know very well that pushing for something you believe in, in this industry is usually an uphill battle. But you have all made it to the top of the mountain and I want to thank you all for the view!!! Simply Perfect Touching Love!!!!

I looked her up. I just found one old article saying she died of “natural causes” But her death was “inconclusive”. so that sounds fishy to me.

There has clearly been much thought put into this situation this family is going through, but as well there has been much attention paid to the togetherness and experiences they want to give Christopher before he has to pass. So inspirational.

Please tell Christopher he's touched some lives in Maui, Seattle, & Berkeley, (California). I was deeply moved by his message & passed it on to my daughters. I can promise Christopher I will think of him often & for the rest of my life. He is certainly someone who did his best. Aloha 'Oe.

(Pt. 2) So, thanks to you, thanks to your story, I will be spending three weeks of summer this year volunteering in Costa Rica, helping the children there who need help. Something that I had thought about doing, but always told myself that I was too young, or I was too busy to do it. So thanks, I think you've turned my life into a direction that it was unlikely to turn in before. And I appreciate that. And I won't forget.

One of my friends is battling Osteosarcoma right now. His girlfriend is my floormate and my better friend and she is just so torn up and worried about it... For them both, and for his friends, it's our faith in Christ that's really helping. That's not to say that our faith is only therapy, but right now, we're very comforted by it.

RIP Chris. You joined in heaven my friend, Carolyn, who died soon after turning 30 from osteosarcoma - also in a knee, which spread fairly quickly to her lungs despite surgery and chemo, just like you. She was brave but also very sad knowing her life would end soon. She had just found the love of her life and there was so much more she wanted to do - she was a brilliant woman. She would admire your calm, thoughtful and active approach to dying. She is terribly missed by family and friends, just as you are. Blessings to you and your family.
