Although it’s strange having my personal life in the public eye, it’s always been important for me to be vulnerable. There is no other way to bring true understanding to a chronic illness like ALS. It’s been almost two years since this was filmed and a lot has changed… Laarne is now on her own journey with life and I wish her love and happiness. I don’t know if I will find love again But I am finding it within myself. This past year has made me a more resilient soul. I don’t plan on giving up.. My mom and I are still fighting together and I am doing my best to continue my photography despite my progression. ALS has brought my voice to a whisper. I got a new feeding tube. Last week. My life is painfully beautiful and I am grateful for every second of it.. I just need to continue to evolve with my circumstances. Thank you My Last Days team for all of your hard work and enlightened souls and my family for your unwavering love and support. I L O V E Y O U.

I couldn’t watch all of this, my dad passed from this disease 3 years ago and it’s truly amazing that anyone diagnosed with it can keep such a bright outlook on life and not really complain, which they have every right to do. My dad never complained, he always smiled & joked until his final days and when I first got to his side when his situation turned, his first words to me were “I’m sorry”…he was sorry I had to rush a hour away to be by his side smh amazing he still was thinking about everyone else. Anthony, people like you and my dad are true heroes the way you continue to spread light in the darkest situations, continuing to love and care for others and create memories instead of letting this disease take over what’s left of your quality of life, you make the best of it. Sending all my love to you and your family❤

Dear Anthony -- I have never been so moved by a video as I was with your episode. I have struggled with being vulnerable not consciously but subconsciously, throughout my entire life. When you showed your vulnerability, you made it okay for me to reveal my own (although I was alone). It was like a brick had been removed from a wall I had denied even existed and some light penetrated my soul. I cried. The first time in 8 years. It was a short, "ugly" cry, that included some whimpering, but it felt like a psychic weight had been lifted from me, one that I had been carrying around for years and years. You did that for me and I am ever so grateful. I needed that shift. Thank you for being that unselfishly being that light.

Anthony i was diagnosed with ALS this January. I have just about lost my speech and swolling is so very difficult for me. Like you i am learning to evolve with the changes in my body that others cant see but i can feel. When I began watching your videos and you have inspired me in more ways that I cant say. You give me strength and hope! I try to focus on the living my best life everyday! I dont think to far ahead but i do have things i want to do and a few places i would like to see before my time is over! My sister is one of my angels. My husband and I are so thankful that she makes all of my phone calls and schedules all of my appointments. She advocates for me to get me what i need to fight this disease and make living my the best it can be. My husband and I are so grateful to have her. With her on my side it allows my husband the ability to concentrate on taking care of me. I feel blessed. I thank God for the ALS Foundation and the MDA CLINIC where i get my treatment. I will continue to pray for your mom and for you and everyone else who has been diagnosed with ALS. I urge every one to donate money no matter how small or big the amount. We need a CURE and we need to have access to treatment that will give us more time without having to be worried about how much the procedure costs! We as Americans have that right ! You take care of yourself and your mom and never give up! We are ALS WARRIORS! WITH GREAT LOVE and Respect Always, Rhonda Adkins

I have Complex PTSD, severe depression, anxiety & I have been watching end of life videos all night. It’s almost 5am. Just weeping in bed. Why do I do this? Such beautiful people. I guess I’m trying to understand how they do it. I was really sick once too but it was curable though it’s left me with some chronic issues. Nothing like this though so I am grateful. I sought to destroy myself for so long in fear of more pain & life, not death, yet terrified of death still. To see these people is so amazing. But still I’ve just been bawling silently. Not healthy.

Parsimmon Leoni even if they’re not together...she played a powerful role in his life and him in hers... that’s the thing about this life, embrace the moments. Nothing, nothing lasts... so hold on at the time, appreciate what is at the time. As life goes on, being a grandma and nurse...having lived through pain, disappointments, loss, beauty, miracles...I expect less of what will be and work more on accepting what is. Sometimes soulmates are people who make an imprint and don’t stay... and sometimes you reconnect with someone you love later after you thought it would never happen again and you are intoxicatingly grateful for that opportunity and less afraid at potential loss... love harder, fear less...

Thank you for this video. Thank you Anthony for keeping up. My father died in 2013 when I was 12 years old because of ALS. I can relate to this history so much. The pain, the feeling of just having no chance. But also the happiness that one can find in the little moments, in the small thing, and everything that involves knowing you don't have all the time of the world. My dad tried to squeeze everything he could from the time he had. It was difficult for me being the only son, but also for my mom, who's still grieving, just as we all do. Once again, thank you for this video, and thank you Anthony, I cried so much during these 20 minutes of footage, but I also got the chance to remember those good moments with my dad, maybe you will read this comment. Maybe nobody will read it, but once again. Thank you.
