A lot of the Souls community loves watching newcomers. It's less because we like watching you suffer (though also that) and more because you can only ever play a soulsborne for the first time, once. And you're only a proper noob on the very first one you play. You can get close to that feeling again by playing each new game as it comes out, but even then you already know what to expect. Closest you can really get? Watching someone else's first-ever, and experiencing it all again vicariously. Major bonus points if they're sincerely worth watching. So far? Not disappointed.

One really important thing to remember about Elden Ring, just because you're in an "easy area," it doesn't mean every enemy will be easy. Usually the evergaols are a bit difficult. Lanky ass is pretty difficult for where you are. The weapon in the lake they were talking about is the dagger that the red guy you were fighting had. It's a dex/arcane weapon though, which doesn't really fit the strength build you're wanting right now. At one point you entered a mine, I would recommend going back in there. Mines give a lot of upgrade materials and that one in particular can help you out a lot I think. 21:21 You picked up the golden ball at the church? If you sit at a grace and check the flask menu, items from the churches and golden trees are usually flask related upgrades.

The red dude in the narrow path is an invader NPC. He will drop a useful item. You can avoid him until Yura (steel hat samurai) shows up. He can serve as a distraction while you beat the invader.

If you go east of limgrave, you can find a curch where you can get the flask of wondrous physick, and it lets you use those bubbletears you got from killing that erdtree avatar

You should kill bloodhound knight darriwil. He’s in one of those evergaol circles south in limgrave. He drops a really good weapon for early and mid game. He’s pretty tricky but doesn’t have a lot of hp.

if you want wicked dragon powers teleport back to Santa, than stick to west till you find a beach with big tentacle things. check the cliffs for a cave. gotta get through the cave to get to the dragon altar

When encountering bosses that you have trouble with, I would recommend to focus on learning its attack patterns. The best way to do that in my opinion, is to just avoid and not attack, until you're used to the attack patterns. When you are more comfortable with dodging the attacks, you start to weave in your own attacks, when there is openings for it. And you're doing good for a new player to the genre, so keep at it

Listen. Don't feel too obligated to go where people point you to. This is an open world game, feel free to take your time and explore, and I mean it. This game has a lot of hidden places with items and paths, don't rush it. Experiment with moves, weapons, anything really. Also, jump attacks are stronger than normal ones. As for the bosses? The biggest advantage they have is intimidation. Don't let them get you into panic rolling and you'll manage, just like you did with the Tree Spirit in the catacombs.

That ice dude isnt the one with the weapon. The weapon I believe people want you to get is in Limgrave, another circle thing that looks just like that one. It has a really cool Ash of war. Its south of the lake a little bit. Future note, The tree guys are weak to fire, or rather fire will do extra damage.

The tear you got from the Tree sentinel can be used to buff you for a short time. Useful for bosses. To use that, check with Santa, he sells a "Note" that tells you about a church where you can get this item (something related to physick)

You can click the left stick to get off your horse quickly. Also, if you open the menu and move the cursor to the right, you can set the horse and spirit ashes to a separate menu so you don’t activate them with X on Xbox controller (or square on PS). You can activate these special slots by holding Y and selecting the direction on the D-pad. You can also look at the map and lay down markers that will guide you. My recommendation is to make a few marks you are interested in checking out, and then doing it. In the areas you have not found the map fragment, you can see where the fragment is by looking at the map and finding a little pillar amongst the brown. Keep trucking, you’re doing better than you think.

Hey man. Great video! So, I’d like to say first is that I don’t mind how all over the place the vid was. Elden Ring is all about exploration. Here are some things that could help you. First, there is a ton of treasure hidden away in small areas that you may just pass over, so look around! Second, you came across a mine when you were following the directions of that one person. In mines, you can find all sorts of materials, like smithing stones, crafting materials, etc. The mine you found I would recommend going and completing. Third, there are some enemies in the game where they have different types of weapons that are effective against them then others are. Like those guards that are in the green and red that you kill a lot of. Your sword is effective against them. But some enemies have hard armor. A sword will be less effective than say a blunt weapon like a hammer. So, it may not be a bad idea to find a blunt weapon you like just in case. Fourth, concerning bosses, if one is too hard, you can leave it for later. Like, take the Tree Sentinel. He is that big yellow horse guy who you see as soon as you enter the outside. He is a boss that you aren’t ready for. So, you can leave bosses for when you are ready. That guy that shoots the ice, he is a bit higher level, so you can skip him if you want. That is one of the beauties of Elden Ring. Finally, just explore, get used to the controls, and have fun. Look forward to any future vids!

Just caught your one from a week ago and now this -- sweeet. I spent forever in that gatefront area with the one mob and knight with the heavy shield. My mind was not ready for how big the map was either. It's nuts. If you have the DLC, that's even more stuff on top. I think my first playthrough took over 400 hours with just the base game, since I was just exploring so much. It's fun seeing where the map takes different people -- it makes every letsplay really unique.

To heal your horse there are two ways. 1 heal yourself while on it. 2 craft an item from one of the cookbooks santa sells. Yuo can get off the horse by couching. The dragon heart you go from first step site of grace go towards the knight turn LEFT and go down the cliff past the big guy and circle back left on the beach following the wall there is a cave go through beat boss and done.

great video! :) regarding you drinking your flask instead of using the horse whistle --> you can just press L3 to get down. for even more convenience: if you press start (open menu) on the top right there are 4 quickslots --> if you put your whistle there you can just press triangle (on ps5 controller) and the respective directional key to quickly use the whistle. makes mounting really easy and fast. if you go south-east from the dragon lake you will find a bridge guarded by soldiers - if you go past there you can explore a nice area for your level and to train your skills. In Elden Ring, even if something is "beginner- friendly", it doesn't stop you from dying. I cleared this game 6 times already and died to a single normal dog, because im a greedy, and impatient fck. that's life :D and another quick thing: don't underestimate weapon upgrades - its good for you to search a bit and find a weapon you want, but a few weapon upgrades do more for you than leveling strength 30 times, that's how op upgrading is :D

Have been wanting to sit down and watch your video and finally got the chance. You proved that you are a true-blood souls player in the first video by killing that Ulcerating Tree Monster in the Fringefolk Hero's Grave. You powered through an extremely hard fight, this is how we all do in our first souls-game. That is a big Kudos from me at least, I was impressed. I hope you keep playing til' the credits roll, you are going to feel different about what types of experiences these types of games have to offer. That being said, you should know that the bosses are never unfair, you proved that yourself, but bosses can be very hard especially if you are new and under leveled. I was probably about level 40 when I first fought him, had my vigor at 20 points at least. And Elden Ring, more than any other souls game, tries to hammer in the fact that you get to choose when to fight. So if you want to push yourself, really get good at the game, you can take on strong bosses, learn their every attack and kill them with a tea spoon. But if you don't feel like it you can go explore somewhere else, level up a bit and then come back and put whatever boss in it's place. I know I've bored you enough but one final thing might make it easier to understand the confusion and the story that is any souls game. While the intros usually give you the setting and key characters in the games it really doesn't help you to understand why and what you're doing. In these games you are never the chosen one from start, you are just any guy that somehow ends up where you are. We don't really know what we did before we got to, in Elden Ring's case, The Lands Between or why we came there so part of the experience is to find out what the F is going on. Some people seem to hate thinking and speculating but if you want to try and make anything of the story you are going to have to piece things together yourself, some things might even be so convoluted that you need to watch some of the expert lore sleuth here on youtube in order to get the full picture. Don't let this put you off, people will help you piece things together in the comments for sure and if you give the games storytelling a chance I bet you'll probably love it. Go about the game as if you just had been thrown into the Lands Between. What would you do, you'd at least have a s**t load of questions but I'd bet you'd be intrigued by this new place your in. Can you trust what the people you meet tell you? Should you trust them? What is the right thing to do, where should I go and what should I be doing there? You get to decide all of this, you will have to pick sides and by learning more about what is going on in Elden Ring you actually unlock other endings too. Well, this got long and I've just paused the video at 1min to write this book of mine! Any way, I might address something specific later but I hope that this didn't bore you to death, I just love to see people getting into these games.

Go through the different options at the site of grace. One of them is a menu to use your golden seeds and sacred tears to upgrade your potions. You can get more sacred tears by finding churches, and golden seeds are sitting in front of the small glowing golden trees you see every once in a while.

I was so excited to see you make another video of Elden Ring again, especially with your high quality videos and entertaining commentary. Also I'll like to say you should start investing more into range options, not saying you really should, but sometime learning to stay away from dangerous looking moves and just blasting them would be a whole lot easier You can also press the roll button while laying down to get up faster, it acts as it's own dodge too. You can also double jump with your horse (it doesn't stop fall damage if you're thinking of that). When it comes to exploring, just do random stuff that is in your reach (press buttons).

For temporary, you are using straight sword. You can upgrade to +2 or +3 to kill the enemies or bosses at the south area. I think +3 is enough to handle them. Until you get a new weapon you like. then you can switch it. Btw, focusing on 1 weapon is ok also. Since you are first time and no enough materials for upgrading. It's up to you

East of liurnia there's a painter shack, kill the gold knight there , it drops a prayerbook that gives you lightning spear incantation, could be your bread and butter early game, you can give the prayerbook to a guy at the roundtable hold named cohryn to buy the incantation.

I found your channel the other day and i loved watching you just run into the treeworm, its something a large majority of player base did at it makes for a good laugh! I will keep watching the future videos and drop minor tips, i wish i would of knew as i entered the elden journey, i wont give you insane help for loot, etc unless asked in a future video but some minor tips i can throw you for now to help where you are would be ( Sry went a lil adhd XD ) Try to buy every Cookbook, Crafting book, or anything along the lines that provide a craftable service never know when you can make something to help with a fight. If you arnt looking at guides the little notes the sell help with random bits of info of where to go for things. Try not to go crazy with all the new weps early game choose a solid one use it for awhile, the upgrade system will hault you after awhile to prevent you from getting massssssssiiiiivvvvvvvee. You will feel like your weps wont be hitting as hard as you ended up scattering your upgrades through 5-10 weps insted of 1-3. I will state you can reset your stats later in the game but i wont tell you how just yet, SO dont stress to hard about accidently making a level up mistake in your stats everything can be fixed at a later date ( This helps with mental anguish ) BIGGEST Tip i can suggest is don't get overwhelmed with the sense of non-provided information, By using the Flag system in the map, Make the first 3 markers in the map a information system the same for example trust it does help so you dont lose your mind trying to remember if you finished a area if you had to turn around cause a boss wont let you pass etc, SWORD ICON = BOSS IN AREA, SKULL ICON = I ALMOST BEAT THIS BOSS , RUNNING MAN ICON = I GTFO THERE XD Make return later, FLAG ICON = CLEARED AREA, DIAMOND = FARMABLE LOOT , . ( NOTE you can only have 100 ICONs on the map at a time i suggest going area by area filling them out as u explore then as u move on through the game you can remove the 1st areas icons to progess) Thanks for the content!, Have a good day.

Quick Tip for fighting big enemies like Golems, Trolls, and Giants: two-handed Charged Heavy attacks against their ankles can knock them down in two or three hits, exposing their glowing weak points. Hit the weak point with a regular attack to score a Critical Hit for MASSIVE damage. Most of them die in no more than two repeats.

If you defeat the Nejirus guy in the canyon next to the Agheel Lake, you can then fight the samurai dude, who's chilling at the end of the canyon once Nejirus is defeated. If you beat him, you get the longest (and therefore the best) katana in the game. It's a goated weapon.

Try to explore more, complete caves, and go through castles and fortresses. Sometimes, you can find weapons from enemies. Other times, you will just find them out in the world or in chests. If you get frustrated, dont feel bad about taking a break or going somewhere else. You are doing great man, never give up!

You're doing fine. Don't rush it and just enjoy the experience. I see you taking on some tough mobs that anyone would have some difficulty with at the level you are attempting it. Eventually, you will get in a rhythm and find the best playstyle for you. I have always been a slice and dice katana guy while my brother likes the colossal weapons. A really good weapon, in my opinion, is the Lordsworn's Greatsword that is a really good compromise and can easily take you to level 100. It's not as slow as most swords its size but is still good at breaking stance on enemies. And it's relatively easy to get early on. The Bloodhound Fang is a great weapon, no doubt, but it might pigeonhole you into a certain playstyle that maybe won't benefit you in the long run. Just my opinion, though.

Tips: You shouldn't sell unique items like shields and weapons. You never know when a particular item might come in handy later. Also, the item descriptions contain lore and helpful tips. Equip load is only affected by the armor/weapons you have equipped. It can be leveled up by increasing Endurance.

When fighting the guy at the river area where the guy comes and help you, try wait till the other guy show up before you start fighting him. Let him fight the guy while you sneak in some attacks.

Santa sells a crafting kit make sure to get that asap cause once you get cookbooks they give you more crafting recipes and you can craft almost every item/consumable in the game using crafting resources so make sure not to sell that unless you don't plan on using that system in which case feel free to sell your crafting resources if you aren't crafting. Also some merchants sell cookbooks as well as some are found throughout the world on bodies

I saw you had some trouble with the evergoal boss. There are some things you can do. The first thing you can do is level up your character (I would suggest vigor, endurance and strength to start with). The second thing is improve your weapon by upgrading it at a blacksmith. The third thing is that some weapons do extra damage. Like they can do fire damage, holy damage, magic, rot, bleed,.. so always look in your inventory and inspect each weapon and it abilities. Because every boss is different and has weaknesses to different things. I also saw you sell a shield for souls. I would suggest not to sell any gear at all, only sell the duplicates, because you might need the gear to fight a boss. Have a great journey!

The Dragon disappears sometimes because, if a boss is too far outside of it's spawn area, it'll reset after a while. Thankfully, you don't lose progress, so if you need a breather, you can just run away for a quick minute!

You might noticed that sometimes when a enemy hits you a bar fills up like the frost bar at the frost dude. If the bar is filled you get massiv damage. And then it startes again. You can do the same thing if you own a weapon that ahs bleed or frost or sleep or blabla so many options actually. For example undead creatures take exrtra holy damage and then also die imediatly without their revive skill.

Tip: when u fight a big ass enemy like a dragon, most people (me included) prefer to not lock the camera on them. Maybe it can work for you! Keep up the good work, my man

Lol, you've been fighting some of the more difficult early game bosses. North of the Church of Elleh (where Santa Claus is) there is a cave (it has a soldier enemy sitting down next to a fire) where typically the "first" boss most people beat in it that's not too hard (took me like 10 tries because I hadn't even level up yet). If you're on Torrent then the cave isn't even one minute from the church of Elleh. There's just a couple of wolves to get past before the boss, and it has a site of grace inside the cave to easily respawn. I would start there. In total, between Limgrave and the Weeping Peninsula, there are 30 early game bosses. I fought Margit, got destroyed a bunch, then decided to beat all 30 bosses before fighting Margit again. Beat him easily after that. Also, the dragon communion church is more of a mid-game thing because it's in the same area that first transporter took you to. Basically everything in that area will kill you in one hit at your level. I don't know why that NPC said it was on an island because it isn't. It's in the middle of a desert.

The Souls Community is the best. Maybe it's because, like they say, misery loves company. Lol Pro Tip for Mounted Combat: If you use charged heavy attacks (hold L2 or R2, depending on which side you want to attack) your weapon can continuously hit while the attack is charging. So, when fighting many enemies on horseback with shields (that aren't Erdtree Sentinels, f those guys), you can stick to their left side, your right, and wreck their face. I got so good with it that I can kill the nighttime bosses, no spoiler, without getting hit.

Also other players is going to back seat a lot. That's what it seams but it's just a lot of stuff going on place the NPC is going to tell you stuff only one time. So it's easy to forget what they say.

If I see something you can improve on or if I can offer some minor advice I will edit this comment like I did last video Edit 1: Equip load wise, medium load is what the majority of what people use, light load gives a massive boost in dodge range Edit 2: kill all the animals, I have died because a goat has headbutted me in the middle of a boss fight Edit 3: sure I'll consider you a souls veteran, you did beat an ulcerated tree spirit with fat roll after all Edit 4: holding down on the d-pad will make you jump to your first item on the item bar which can help as most people have the heal on the first tab Edit 5: you can actually get the octopus as a helmet drop rate is something like 0.5% Edit 6: according to the Elden ring community that wasn't a turtle, it was a dog Edit 7: the giant rock turtle mausoleum is used for duplicating big boss souls which allow for more souls or a different reward Edit 8: you can't summon torrent (your horse) in certain areas or when you are being invaded by an NPC/player Edit 9: when it comes to golden runes in your inventory use them when you need money or if you're a little off from a level up Edit 10: if you charge hard attack the big golems legs he will fall over after a few which you can critically hit his chest. He also guards a talisman that slowly heals you over time (2hp a second) or if you spam equip it will heal you everytime it's equipped Edit 11: there is a total of I think 156 bosses base game but honestly you only need to beat like 7 to beat the game Edit 12: there are multiple erdtree avatars and I suggest dodging diagonally forward to the left as that can avoid a lot of his attacks, the golden bullet spam being the exception If you beat ice Slenderman dude you get a talisman not a weapon. I suggest going south of where he is to a merchant in a destroyed house and he sells a Zweihander which is a big a$$ sword for strength builds early as an even better one is in Ohio (Caelid) The invader is difficult because he is using a dagger weapon and will interrupt you because you have low poise, which is your stagger resistance which comes from your armor. Armor wise, kill dudes enough and you can take their clothes, some really good looking armor are only from bosses and others behind quest lines. Speaking of that, some bosses only spawn at night and they are difficult for some players, be aware of that when exploring Nice video looking forward to the next one

The biggest sin in Elden Ring is to get greedy with hitting bosses. Mostly, you'd learn their attack patterns; Get 2-3 hits in, back up, and get back in. Repeat.

you can get armor by killing enemies, most enemies will drop their gear if you kill them enough times, the drop rates are different for different items you should go look for the castle in the south, just go to the southeast corner of that continent where you fought the slenderman, its a good early game area. the class you are playing can do magic, even if you dont want to use it as your main weapon, you can use incantations for buffs or heals, theres a guy in the roundtable that sells spells

It should be strength or dexterity, based off of your weapon. You can tell which is more valuable based off of the highest letter on the attribute scaling.

next episode dedicate every goddamn second and millie second to get the bloodhounds fang. It is the best weapon for the early game just for the kind of play through you want (slashing through everything) you will need to kill the mini boss Blodhounds fang to get the sword but when you learn the moveset it gets easy and it will be worth it. The weapon can also carry you through the whole game if you want to use it. also get a lot more vigor/endurance/strength if you dont want to kill yourself because of the game:)

About the graphics first. Disable the RTX completely. The stuff it adds is not even close to worth the cost of performance. If you don't believe me, just try it and leave everything else on max, I assure you that you won't be able to tell what the RTX stuff did. The game gets so much more stable with enough overhead for me to run the game at 90-120 fps (I have the fps-unlocker mod, it's great, especially if you have a VRR monitor). If you actually want to make the graphics better I'd suggest the "Force Dynamic Shadows Mod", it actually makes a difference having most every light actually cast shadows and doesn't need ray-tracing (and you don't get this effect with RTX on). Your computer will also run a little cooler and quieter :) You did good killing the dragon, those dragon hearts might come in handy when you find out what to do with them ;) When you go to places where you haven't yet gotten the map look for a marked out pylon or gravestone on the unmapped area, it's where you'll always find a map piece. The Map is also bigger than what you've gotten to see. This game is big. The Crystal Tears you got can be used in a special flask called Mixed Physics. You can find the flask at a ruined church in the north-eastern part of Limgrave Watched the complete video now, I'll do a quick story update on the key points so far. Just as a reminder, you chose the Confessor as your starting class (I did so to, they look so cool). This class starts with a focus on the Faith stat which scale with certain weapons but also allows you to cast incantations (holy magic). There are plenty of buffing spells included in incantations but also healing spells and since you start with a limited number of flasks those healing spells can come in clutch at the start. They take longer than downing a flask but they are great heals in between battles. *The story so far...* You started your journey in an old and dilapidated chapel where the first thing you saw was a woman in what looked like some somewhat fancy clothing. You also found a severed finger upon her corps. You had no idea why you were there or what her purpose was and so you ventured on. The next thing that caught your interest was this giant, glowing tree in the distance. After marveling at it you ventured forth and found a strange creature with multiple legs and arms and it killed you quickly. While in some kind of limbo you heard a woman speaking, saying something about "maybe this one is the one" and she seemed to be talking to a horse-like creature. Then you wake up, somehow alive again and find yourself in a new place and still very much clueless to the fact as to why you are even where you are. The first "friendly" NPC you meet, Varé (guy dressed in all white with a mask) seems to know a lot about you, more than you yourself even know. He tells you that you are a Tarnished that has come to the Lands Between in search of something called the Elden Ring which would grant you the power to become a Lord. He seems very smug about the fact that you are "maidenless", in fact he calls this maiden a "finger maiden". Could that have been the dead woman you saw at the beginning? Did someone kill your Finger Maiden and then as some kind of mockery, cut off her finger just to rub things in? I would suggest the next time you go meet Varé you take a really close look at him (and whatever you decide to do, know that if you kill NPCs they stay dead, for the most part). Even if Varé is a smug bastard he still tells you lots of useful stuff. Like the Graces you rest at giving you guidance as to which direction you might want to go. He seems to follow your progress with great interest, he even knows that you later on go and visit the Roundtable Hold. He tells you that you need to prove yourself for the Roundtable Hold to get an audience with someone called "The Two Fingers" by getting a Great Rune. He points you to the nearest Great Rune bearer, a Demi-God named Godrick the Grafted that lives in Stormveil Castle (the big castle up north that you see when you open the door and step out into Limgrave) You also met this mysterious girl that seems to be able to appear out of thin air. She calls herself Melina and makes a deal with you; she'll act the part of a Finger Maiden and has the power to turn your Runes into levels and she also gives you this horse-like creature she calls Torrent if you take her with you to the foot of the Erdtree, that big glowing tree in the distance. But how did she find you? Isn't it very convenient that she found one Tarnished who just happened to be "maidenless"? So now you have a general purpose, you need to take this magic woman Melina to the foot of the Erdtree, the same place where you somehow might get to become the Elden Lord. You've met a witch who called herself Renna and she wanted to help you on your quest by giving you the means to call spirits that can aid you in battle. I don't think you showed any of the Roundtable Hold, so I don't really know who you talked to there but they tell you mainly stuff about themselves except for a couple of NPCs that talk a little more about the Tarnished and the Elden Ring. At this early point they don't say very much tho, but if you want to get a deeper understanding of what the hell is going on, this place is worth visiting every now and then and certainly when you defeat important bosses. Great video, don't be afraid to keep them longer. Me and most Souls-fans love to follow the journey, we're in for the long run and we love to see as much of your playthrough as possible. :)

By use holy he ment deal holy damage. Weapons and skills dead different kinds of samage. Read their descriptions and stats. Enemys have ofthen weakness against some element of damage like fire or holy and so on. The runes are your experience for leveling and trading. They boost your amount of runes if used. You can also craft more and more things like grease for weapons that add a element of dmg.

Try to face enemy’s calmly and don’t attack just learn how to dodge the attacks. they have patterns that once you learn them is super easy. Lv up some more doing the caves around the first grace there’s one to the right of Santa to the back and another one to the left on the beach. Those should be easy. You have another item load out to the right once you “pause” the game use it for the horse and items you won’t need to use quickly.

I have a 3070ti as well and the game runs great for me on max settijgs at 1080p. No raytracing tho as our cards only has 8gb of video RAM and raytracing will just overwork it. Especially in some encounters where projectiles are being spammed

Oh no. Don’t sell your weapons/armours unless you have at least one copy in your inventory. You could accidentally sell something important if you do. To keep your weight at medium, just unequip or replace the weapons/amours. No need to sell them.

@@Dudenamedtay I haven’t played Skyrim (yet), so I can’t comment on the difference. But I forgot to mention that leveling your endurance also raises your max equip load. 25 is the soft cap (as in after that it will start to affect your max equip load a little less). You don’t have to get it up that far just as long as you’re medium loading. Some would go with less armour instead but that would make it more difficult because of lesser defences. Meaning you got to get really good with dodging/avoiding damage. However, going light load would mean your dodges will be faster. So use that for future strategies. Lastly, there’s a talisman called Blue Dancer that increases your damage when you only equip light. Can’t remember the exact number but I think it’s something like 8 max. That’s probably too much info for now. But the main thing is avoid heavy loading. You’ll know it when you roll and you roll in slow-mo. And when you sprint you, you look like you’re squating and plowing lol.
