If it looks simple and easy, it's probably a total death trap.

@@davobands There's a system where players can leave messages for each other. You basically get equal amounts of helpful advice, shitposting, and trolling. But yeah, messages that say "try jumping" are usually someone trying to get you to jump to your death lol Oh and "secret path ahead" is usually bullshit, but every time I come across that message (or ones like it) I check anyway in case it's one of those rare times when there really was a hidden path lol. It's just often enough to be worth not ignoring

Basically for the story of this game, George R. R. Martin wrote a mythos about the world of Elden Ring and its characters. We don’t know much about this original mythos (except what we learn in-game) because it was never released. The events of the game take place an uncertain but long time after the mythos that GRRM wrote, and these events - which involves GRRM’s history and characters - were written by Fromsoftware. So the story of Elden Ring is unique in the sense that the past was written by GRRM but the present is written by Fromsoftware. It plays out really well if you like lore and mysteries.

@@davobands He is technically the 2nd Big Important Story Boss (tm) that you encounter (provided you don't get sidetracked too hard). Horn guy with the big stick is the first, and stands at the entrance to Dragon guy's castle. He is the 2nd out of more or less 13 mandatory bosses, but there are over 150 bosses in the game total. And them's pre-DLC numbers. And the bosses only get crazier as the story progresses. Have fun!

Alright here's some tips for the beginning of the game 😉 - don't kill NPC's if they don't attack first, you could miss out their quest and rewards - talk continuously to the NPC's until they start repeating the same thing, exhaust their dialog - don't stay fighting a boss too long or stay in only one area, it's open world so feel free to explore, and there's a lot of secrets in every corner - if you're interested in the story of the game, check the items descriptions, most of the lore is there, and helps you understand what your journey is about - get ready to die and learn, it's hard at the beginning, but once you understand the combat and begin to understand the mechanics of the game it becomes amazing - It won't take you by the hand unlike some other games, so you will have to figure out where the game continues, where Is the next place for a quest or the answer to some puzzle or catacomb. You may feel slightly lost at the beginning, but don't forget it's what the game wants, for you to try things and explore - you should play with a control, on keyboard it's a bit harder in my opinion, it was meant for control I think that's It for now, hope you'll have fun, ill drop some more advices on your next videos. Btw good quality for your videos considering you're a small channel 😌

I think that's all the tips one needs to play Elden Ring. I feel like somehow they have made Elden ring far more accessible without sacrificing the core of the games special. Like, there are still lots of secrets that a blind player will probably miss, but still they will never be confused about where to go next. Also, they have included so many different in world difficulty modifiers with so many different options that if you are willing to engage with the systems of the game, the game can be made really easy, but if you want a challenge, some of the endgame bosses are some of the hardest to beat solo in their catalogue.

Tip: dying is not a bad thing, it’s part of the journey, but death is also not a lack of progress either unless you shutdown. Make each death count by learning. Whether it’s from trying something new, whether it’s a new tactic or weapon. Or maybe just learn the timing of dodging a specific attack. Don’t be afraid to die to learn something. That knowledge is priceless, while the death is quickly forgotten. If you’re really having trouble with a boss or enemy, a good tactic is only try to dodge without attacking to learn the timings and your openings and just see how long you can survive without attacking. Edit: bonus tip: you have invincibility frames on your dodge, and so it is almost always better to dodge towards the enemy when they attack rather than away. Fear is punished, aggression is rewarded. If you dodge in you’ll move in the opposite direction of the attack so it passes you much faster and then you can also attack the enemy after. If you dodge away then you are following the attack and might end up inside it when your invincibility ends and still getting hit, plus you’re now away from the enemy so you’re too far to get as much damage in before they attack again.

Spoiler free early game tips- On leveling: 1) level vigor early. More vigor = more hp = you can take more hits = this stat is effectively a difficulty slider. 2) avoid heavy load. if the gear you want to equip puts you in heavy, then remove some of it until you're down to medium load, and then level endurance until you can equip what you want without being in heavy. 3) level other stats early on if needed to meet gear requirements, but those stats generally won't make a huge damage difference until you upgrade your weapons some, so leveling for offense can wait until you have enough vigor to take a hit or two and enough endurance to wear the gear you want without heavy load.4) don't let your runes (money/experience) stack up. When you die it drops where you are, and if you die again before you pick it up it's lost, like shovel knight. Rune loss from double death will happen, the fewer runes you let build up the less painful it will be when it does. On where to go: checkpoints will offer you the 'guidance of grace', suggesting a direction to go, typically pointing to nearby bosses or story progression. But it's important to remember that this grace is only a suggestion, and it isn't one takes your character's level or your own player skill into account. If it points you at something that feels too hard, go somewhere else and come back later. Additionally, if you're having trouble in the starting area, try heading south. On npcs: non-hostile npcs in this game generally have multiple lines of dialog, talk to them repeatedly until they start repeating themselves. Also, stop to rest at every checkpoint you reach, especially in ruined churches, and look through the rest menu. Sometimes there will be an extra dialog bit there as well. Merchants will also sometimes have 'notes' that when purchased can be found and read in your inventory and these will often give you interesting story tidbits and hints about places to visit or tricks to fighting particular enemies. On lore/story: the game doesn't just tell you the lore/story. That stuff's hidden in obscure npc dialog, item descriptions in your inventory, and environmental details. It's meant to be a puzzle for players to put together, with many pieces deliberately missing to leave room for interpretation and fan community discourse. If you're into that stuff it's a fun game in and of itself, and after beating elden ring I recommend looking up lore channels like vaati vidya, tarnished archeologist, and quelaag, maybe even doing reaction videos to some of their shorter vids. If that stuff's not your bag, though, then the advantage of the lore being mostly hidden and obscure like this is that it doesn't get in the way of just exploring and playing the game. It's not necessary to the gameplay experience.

There's something like 11 developer messages in the game left out in the open on the ground, but I think an incantation makes more appear with Faith. Otherwise majority will be left by players either being helpful or having a laugh. It's often a coin toss which it is, but a giveaway might be where it's at although exceptions certainly exist. Especially when you see signs of more messages ahead. This has been a fun system in place for a decade of Souls games. In Elden Ring, upvoted messages you make give you heals also as an incentive.

Hey huge Souls and Elden Ring fan here. Subscribed and excited to see your journey. Some more tips: 1. Don't expect to understand the story too much, it's deliberately obscured. If you want to understand what's going on, read item descriptions and listen to the NPCs, or watch lore KZbin channels, that's the best way haha. 2. If something seems impossible, move on and tackle it later. The game is challenging, but not impossible. 3. If the enemy is not a boss, sometimes it's better to skip it. 4. Always lock on your enemies (you'll see how at the beginning of the game) EXCEPT when they are very large (for example dragons). Also, if you can ride your horse in a boss battle, it may be a good idea to try. 4. Before leveling uo your character, watch videos about how stats and scaling works, it can be a bit complicated but having a well built character will make the experience less frustrating. 5. Always talk to all NPCs until they start repeating their dialog. Some of them give you quests only after talking with them several times. Good luck man!

@@philippejoseph1215 dunno if this is still a thing, but in leyndell, those 2 iron virgins in the square garden area next to the elevator you can get teleported to near the start of the game. When I used mimic veil as they passed by me, they stopped turned and looked at me and just sat there lol. Would not carry on their way like any other mob. Just sat looking at the pretty flowers. (I was a bush 🙃) Works on most enemies. But naturally try and find a safer spot in case of those patrols. There are very few enemies that can see through it.

His mastery of gravity magic is so great, that he was holding back the literal stars during and after that war shown in the trailers, and even while his mind was gone due to scarlet rot. Once you beat him, the stars quite literally come crashing down, and no this isn’t the final boss

My only true tip is that Vigor hp increase per level is non linear. From 10-20 you'll get much less HP per level than between 20-40. It's also by far the most important stat.

A few things to note, Shadow of the Erdtree is a DLC coming out in June of 2024, basically all we have on it is what was said by the developers in interviews and the trailer. As for characters, General Radahn's horse is fine, Leonard is being helped by Radahn to carry him Via Gravity Magic Radahn is using.

i'm sure other people have told you this by now but george's contributions were mostly laying the ground work for the world instead of writing the world. creating the characters, events, places, the bones, basically. and with miyazaki writing the actual meat of the story.

Tip One: You will die a lot, it's ok. Souls games are about the perseverance. Die, Git Gud, try again. Tip Two: Play how you want and experiment. Try different weapons, try different skills, don't be afraid to summon. Don't let people try to tell how "you're supposed to play." Tip Three: Make use of crafted items. Every enemy has some kind of weakness, and a lot of the crafted items can make challenging situations a lot easier/more manageable. Tip Four: Explore, if it looks like you can go somewhere, you can. There are a lot of hidden paths with items tucked away. Tip Five: Ranni is my wife, don't look at her please. You do not have the right. Tip Six: This is a multiplayer game at heart. Read messages, leave your own, watch phantoms. Most will be helpful, some will be funny, 99% of the ones that say Try Jumping you should avoid. Tip Seven: Try finger, but hole. Welcome to the club.

A good tip I got when starting is to not forget the game is open world. If you're stuck on a boss you may want to go explore and get stronger then come back.
