How the hell do you get these kinds of sounds from a guitar? It sounds like a synthesiser, but it’s all filters! That’s downright musical wizardry right there.

@robyncoy7973 yea. It's sad how music has decline since 2000. No creativity, imovative music. It's just entertainment any tom dick and Harry can become a star these days. Gen z and millenialks have lost it. There not carrying on the tradition of good music.

Hi, i was just thinking that. Very sexy too! I saw the Isley bros. at the jazz fest in New Orleans some years ago. I always go early so I can get up to the barricade. I can get rained on and sunburned in the same day. I wonder if the Isley bros. Family have old videos of Ernie and Jimi playing guitar together. Take care!

My mother used to say Ernie Isley was the best guitarist ever. She said everybody copied his style and he didn't get recognized enough for his talent. When we were younger, she would play this album on Saturdays and it was time to get up and clean the house...lol.. it was 6 kids, music blasting in through the speakers and we would be dancing and cleaning. That's back when you could let the whole album play, no skipping to the #1 hit..the whole album was a hit!! The best years of my childhood. This influenced my taste in music and made me appreciate the artistry

@danahoward759 I like your story about the childhood appreciation and influence of "Whole Hit Albums" by the Isleys and I'm sure others! The Isleys had many! Believe it or not my very first influence and appreciation came of the love of Nat King Cole's voice at about 4 yrs old! Would sit in front of an old black & white TV watching and listening to his weekly show! You can thank Chris Jasper, Ernie Isley and Marvin Isley for that mid 70's Isley funk sound. Those three took The Isley Brothers to another level.

Yep. They up on the riser. Older brothers down front. Chris Jasper went to Julliard and was classically trained. Ernie just a pure genius and Marvin, RIP wrote a lot of their hits also.

I think Ernie Isley was inspired by Jimmy Hendrix, because Jimmy was once a part of the Isley's in the early 60's(2 or 3 years).
