By the way E, the RP400's are clearly distorting the low bass drum kicks on 'Punked' a bit, with both this amp and the TA1. Their woofers appear to have been slightly damaged.

don't know how long the RP tolerates PUNKD bass at such a high volume ... the death track of the coils :)

@@IMGhee No other speaker has distorted it that way, except the first set of damaged KEF R3's, so these RP's must be damaged too, either from 'Punk'd" coil murder or something else.

The Miccas sounded a lot better to me. The Klipschs have very present highs, strident, harsh, burning, digital. I would have to lower the highs a lot by the integrated to try to compete with the Micca. Miccas have a much more pleasant and friendly sound.

This amp sounds great with the RP400's. Much better actually than the Emotiva TA1, to me. It's far from the best for the RB42's though. They sound a bit more colored and distorted with it than they can with amps better suited to them. Those are mainly high current amps with at least 80 to100 lower impedence watts to offer.

good little box this Micca. unfortunately I haven't heard it live and I won't, because it's a rare piece in Europe, especially in Hungary. fuller, well balanced (perhaps rising above 8kHz) but not disturbing, not sibling. the soundstage is good. in these Klipsch bleeds but even his bass is not good in any way. it’s amazing how deep Micca plays, Yamaha helps him with this, but not the top bass. with a drier, more controlled bass amplifier, we’ll hear what’s going on there once

The A-S301 is a a much faster and more defined sounding amp than the TA1. The only thing the Emotiva has on the Yamaha to me is the TA1s is more transparent in places in the top half of the audio band, but only when it isn't slurring from exhaustion. 🤣
