What i hear here. Dbr62 has a liitle more deepness and stage. And this effects cant be notixed by me in all songs, so there is very few. But dbr62 already twice a cost of 6.2,so you think twice,if you need them. 6.2 is way more than enough for fun)) .imao.

Kefs is a bit bass heavy, which muddies the mids and highs. The Elacs are too sweet in the highs and the bass underwhelming. The kef Q150 is actually better than the Q350. Especially if you had a decent smaller driver say 8-inch woofer.

A and B are too bright for me. B being weakest out of the bunch overall. I felt like the highs on A could also be fatiguing in the long run. C is solid, if not constrained -- maybe a touch too much base? The Meta's were clearly the most spacious to my ears. Going into this I would've bet I would prefer the 4.2's but nope, the Metas. Thanks for this.

I might be missing the point of these videos. You can’t really judge the difference through a secondary speaker?

I owned the yamaha s801, Nad 316 and Nad c328. Book shelf speakers are hungry for power. If you have very efficient speakers go nad. If you need to once and a while want to turn it up, well Yamaha. Pluse Yamaha amps are made in Malasia not china like the NAD. That may be important to some people. Yamaha is much bigger company, which allows them more funds in research and development. Yamaha is heavy, look at the amps with top off and the Yami will have huge hsinks. Class d does not need big sinks because it is class D. Both amps are good, I like both. But for me the nad is not worth 250 more for less power. If it was rotel , then I would go rotel. Look on the used market and the yamaha holds it value better then the c328 which you can get for 200-250. That should tell you something. Just my humble thoughts.

I have a Yamaha RX-V481 and going to the Sony for the built in phono preamplifier. The 481 is tailored to theater entertainment and I haven't used most of its features. It doesn't have a phono preamplifier. I look at electronics these days as disposable, like computers and phones. The Sony is exactly what I'm looking for!

Its seems obvious that the 12.2 would spund vetter (given its a more expensive speaker in same range), but sometimes budgets dictate. The 12.1s seem to still be a really good speaker for their price range.

Honestly this was so close to call. There's a tiny difference in the crossover tuning but overall they play so well that when switching over is was hard to tell unless really concentrating very hard. And Bedroom followed by All The Way Up is such a sweet demo cause it's so radically different but so pleasing.

Have heard both of these in person and I would say they are actually about equal in performance but have a different presentation. Yamaha has that more forward neutral sound and the Cambridge has that classic warm signature British sound. All comes down to what sounds better to your ears. If you like the Yamaha sound then you're in luck as it's significantly cheaper than the Cambridge. In fact you could step up to the Yamaha A S801 and still save vs the Cambridge. The Yamaha 801 has a better DAC, more power at 100 watts, detachable power cord. Yamaha hifi equipment offers great value for the price all around. A better comparison would be the Cambridge AXR 85 vs the Yamaha A S501 as they are priced closed to each other; that would be a tough contest though.

Ok so lets be honest you can not distinctively tell how good or better one amp sounds compared to another from a KZbin video. I own several amps including the 2 in this video and believe me there is a massive audible difference between the audiolab 6000a and the Yamaha RS202. That's not to say the Yamaha sounds bad; it's actually quiet good and provides a lot of value for anyone starting out in the hobby. The Yamaha also blows the doors off of any cheap Chi Fi class D amp out there period.

A video like this with no commentary after or during is kinda pointless . Everything basically sounds the same cause you are amplifying it through whatever you already have. I mean I guess there is SOME difference, but its like test driving a car watching a video.

Ok first of all, thanks for the efforts put on making this video. However despite the 3 amps in here it's the speaker itself that is the weakest in chain here i.e the ugly looking kef which doesn't have any bass to even begin with. Now on the tests, it was very easy to differentiate between the AX and CX series as the AX25 and 35 sounds exactly the same. CX sounds little more focused at least on the video. But with CX series u loose the tone control. I really wish Cambridge should produce a 55watts AX series as well so that budget audiophiles can have more speaker selections with out breaking the bank. Suggestion to E-Project :On the second song you should have shuffled the order of the amps in the blind test portion mark. For me personally I even loved the axa25 when I had auditioned it once with elac speakers.

I have to admit that the R200 sound better, BUT not excessively better. That is because the ES20s are great speakers as well. I find that the R200 mids are more powerful, more defined, without affecting the highs and low. In my case the price difference does not justify an upgrade S20 > R200

When I listen to the Polks they sound quite good to my ears (good base, crystal highs). BUT when music switches to the Elacs, they sound as if you put the Polks in a can, in a box, muffled, dull and flat, without character. Who cares they were designed by Andrew Jones when yhey are very boring to listen to. Conclusion... Why pay so much money for Elacs when they sound like an average quality speaker pair. They have a good look though... Sound and image are always subjective. Some like saturated colors, and some washed out colors. Some like the sound bright, some like it blunt.

Amir at Audio Science Review tested both of these receivers, but only recommended the Yamaha. Although neither is rated for 4 ohm speakers, he ran 4 ohm speakers on both receivers, and the Sony receiver overheated and broke when running 4 ohm speakers. The Yamaha was able to run the 4 ohm speaker without overheating.
