The TX20 has brighter mids and slightly more expressive highs, but the ES20 has deeper bass, which makes it sound bigger, more musical...

I think the R202 gives the ES20s a more neutral balance and an impression of more weight than the A-S301 does, and it levels the playing field between it and the S20. The ES20 holds up well to the meaty sounding XT20's, and adds a touch of smoothness.and detail, but I'm still not sure I enjoy it more, and I think it's due to the slightly sharp texture the ES and S models have to me. This is THE EXACT comparison I've been looking for! Trying to decide between a signature elite 5.1 setup with the ES20s as L/R, or a Monitor XT setup with the XT70 as L/R and XT20 as rears.

@@williammiebach1798 Honestly, it's way closer than I thought it would be. I think I prefer the ES20, but not by a drastic amount. Plus, I'll be using a sub.

@@mattmastrandrea3965 Yeah, they're fairly close. Should be a good HT set up, with a sub. Have you heard the XT70's? That's a lot of drivers!

@@mattmastrandrea3965 Judging from how much bass the XT20s have, those XT70s must have a ton. Add a subwoofer, and you better like a lot of bass and have a pretty big room.

ES20은 소리가 편안하지만 음상이 흐리멍텅 하다고 해야 하나. XT20은 음상이 또렸한데 소리가 날카로워서 귀가 피곤함. 딱 둘의 중간이 있었으면 좋았을듯... 둘중에 하나를 고르라면 넓은 공간에는 ES20 좁은 공간에는 XT20을 고를꺼 같음.

ES the winner in this comparison. ES is elegant measured, teacher with good moderation, XT is a good learner but does not respect moderation.

ES20 has tighter, faster bass, as well as fuller, more musical mids. The treble is the same or maybe I can't tell the difference.

Well, the problem of the ES20 is, that the XT20 are very good. For nearly half the price it is hard to justice the difference.

I usually use MXT20, and I wanted a new speaker, so I came to see how the sound differed from the same POLK speaker, ES20, but I didn't think there was much of a difference, at least I couldn't tell.

IMHO ES20 Still sounds more or less the same but will more details and a little smoother response than xt20 and I guess compared to S20 aswell

I have the S10/S15/S20 with the S35 and 2 HT10s Yamaha RX-V6A. The whole system sounds muddy and filtered not happy with these speakers at all I'm used to bright Infinity reverence speakers. But I'm in a small space and power is not an issue. Selling them starting over. But after this test the XTs are definitely brighter I may test a set.

That power port on the ES really makes a difference. Not sure about depth, but the ES20's definitely have more punch. Mids are about the same, but the XT20's border on sibilant with some of these tracks. Maybe a bit more forward on the XT20. I will also say that I think the ARCAM integrated amp in your other video pairs better with the ES20's.

Здравствуйте. Какие по вашему полочники лучше для музыки по типу Металлики и Продиджи, что бы полновесно звучали без саба. Polk Audio XT20 или Monitor Audio Monitor 100 ? Монитор аудио вроде сделаны немного покачественней, и имеют более нейтральный звук, что на громких композициях позволит делать звук громче, и он не будет раздражать. Что думаете по этому поводу ? Благодарю.

For those saying these are close, have clearly not listened to them both in person, side by side. The ES20 are way better

This showdown just tells XT20 owners you dont have to upgrade. The XT20's sound great for the price and almost 100% identical to the ES20s. If you want a different look and design for your room and want the magnetic grill feature, then go with the ES20 if you can get it on sale and low price, otherwise stick with the XT20.

No me gustan ninguno de los 2: Mientras el ES20 tiene más "pegada" en los graves, suena más "pantanoso" en el resto de frecuencias. Y tampoco me gusta nada la poca distinción de instrumentos (¿altavoces sobresaturados? Quizás debería usarse otro receptor, alguno más sensible) y que se oye muy poco cálido el sonido en general.
