The Walkman was king during the 1980s. The Sound Burger gets points just for its name alone.

Bought it back in 1980 at an Odd Lot store (remember those?) paid $19.95 for it - I never used it and found it in a box 2 years ago - I put it on EBay and got $320 for it - Unbelievable.

Basically an upgrade for any entry turntable that uses the 3600 stylus. LP60 listeners rejoice!

I have an original 80s yellow Soundburger. Its been very usefull for hunting for records at fairs and thrift stores etc. Back in the 80s it was the best sounding portable turntable available.

LOL went back and rewatched your first video, not bad, you have really improved your sound quality, good job.

Hey you said something about a vinyl support platter what is that? And where do I get one? This thing is a great background sound with a bit of music conversation thrown in at a beach get away or pizza and beer night

The United States of Awesome strikes again! I'm not in the market for any turntable but I would never ever ever never miss one of your videos!

I enjoy your channel and content. Not sure that I would consider this turntable but can understand why someone just getting into vinyl might. My perspective is that if you want portable, streaming is the answer. Especially with the small form factor Dacs and amps.

went back and watched your first video on the Sound burger it was ok little echoing going on , I have AT 3600l has a temporary stylus right now on my Denon Turntable, Cause i was cleaning my table and broke my Ortfon stylus ☹. I had read some reviews on it and because of the price it will have to do for now . The new AT 3600LE has got some great reviews for and the price isn't bad . keep up the great video's . A Fan from Canada .

LP Gear have been selling elliptical styli (CFN3600LE) for this cart for years. They even have one with a vivid line stylus (ATN3600DLVL) which I have used on my sound burger.

I’ve been watching your videos since you started. Your first one was fine and I bought a Sound Burger because of your video. I played it a lot at first, but now it is mostly a nice piece in my music room. But, i don’t regret buying it. I don’t see a reason to upgrade the stylus. It sounds fine for what it is. I also read that there is more surface noise with an elliptical stylus when playing older records with debris or scratches deep in the grooves. Conical styli miss the debris and play quieter, but with less detail. I don’t know if it’s true. When you get your elliptical stylus, perhaps you can let us if it’s true. Thanks. Always enjoy your videos.

More to the point, it's a "slimmer" stylus & can trace the groove better.

I am looking for an all in one to test record collection for any defects prior to selling and I do not want to invest a ton of money in a turntable . Do you recommend this with the stylus upgrade or is there an all in one you recommend over the Sound Burger?

'when's it going to pop up?"...anyhow, i think i will go back and watch vid #1
@steveh54511 күн бұрын
ok, actually, the first vid wasn't bad at all. Just less than ideal sound quality, but the rest is fine. Does YouTubing make one lose weight? Maybe I should try.

Sony had the Flamingo, a portable vertical turntable with linear tracking. They cost an arm and a leg nowadays as vintage item. So the Soundburger was basically a knock off Sony. I don't think the Walkman had a lot to do with it, nice piece of HIS-tory though :)

The crap that passes as "audiophile" from some of these KZbin reviewers is truly shocking. One question Bob: Does it come with Fries?

This is NOT new...the original Mr Disc/Sound Burger had a Elliptical stylus available back in the 80's....this was mentioned in the manual..I doubt that many users bought it, but it WAS available.

Not mega important, but when this video finished and your logo came up, because, the other video was covering part of your logo it read 'United States Of Anal' - on my phone at least.
