The bus runs on highway 46 (Autobahn).
This bus was retired in early 2013.
The Rheinische Bahngesellschaft AG Dusseldorf (since 2005 Rheinbahn AG) had a total of 32 MAN articulated buses of type NG 262 (A11). The buses (No. 8218-8249) were put into service in three series in 1997 and 1998 and replaced buses of type MAN SG 242 H.
The first series from the beginning of 1997 (8218-8226) had the brand new silver-red Rheinbahn design. They were the first buses without the familiar red and white color scheme.
The interior trim and seat covers were gray, the handrails yellow.
The buses had a ZF transmission, which was drowned out by the very loud engine.
The second series (8227-8233) of the NG 262 followed at the end of 1997. The buses could be distinguished from the first series by the blue seat covers and the Voith transmission.
A third series followed at the end of 1998 (8234-8249), but without any differences to the second series.
The NG 262 were located in several Rheinbahn depots. A large number of these buses were stationed in Dusseldorf-Benrath, as well as in Dusseldorf-Lierenfeld and Mettmann, and later also a few buses in Dusseldorf-Heerdt.
The last NG 262 were taken out of service in 2013 and replaced by Solaris Urbino 18 III.
