When I see that train in a video, it makes me smile. I guess that’s why they’re called smilies or happy trains. 😄😁

Great sounds as always! The Networkers never fail to amuse me with their sounds. Just a suggestion, try travelling between London Victoria and Orpington on a class 465, the 465/0s and /1s have Hitachi traction packages and sound just as amazing as their GEC-Alsthom counterparts :)

Thanks as always. Actually, I'm planning to travel to UK in October as possible. I've never board on Southeastern from Victoria, that's why I want to try it. If you like Hitachi sound, hope you listen to the sound in Osaka I uploaded. Also, I will do more like in Tokyo :D

Some of the best trains to travel on are 465/0/1s, 466s, 387s and 321s. If you travel on a 321 though, take ear defenders. They are loud ;)

Class 465 lol! That sounds like motor siren! Refurbished Class 321 on Greater Anglia, I interested.

They are not the same by any means. The 365 uses regenerative braking and is GEC-Alsthom only with GTO inverters. The 465s also have Hitachi traction packages in the /0 and /1 variants. Aswell as this, the 365 has to convert 25kv AC over to a DC current for the traction inverters resulting in a louder motor sound.

Nope not even, 365 sounds quite different if you listen closely and compare both, but they are similar, none the less

Love the 365s . I noticed they don't have that distinct loud jet or Hoover type sound the 465s have, esspecially the /1,/0 when they get up to speed.
@NSE4654 жыл бұрын
That's because the motors and guts of the 365 are by GEC-Alsthom and the body and aesthetics are by ABB.
@bb-36534 жыл бұрын
@@NSE465 no of course, although this motor doesent sound the same as 465 met cam, perhaps because they didn't have metro cammels intervention .
@NSE4654 жыл бұрын
@@bb-3653 it could be because it's on AC. I bet on dc they'd sound almost identical
@bb-36534 жыл бұрын
@@NSE465 you know, you have a point, although there are several things to consider . When class 465s motors are off, or their being dragged by one of the diesel trains up north, they make the exact same hoover noise , so it's like when the wheels spin ,it still makes that noise regardless of power being on or not so it doesent seem to be related to source of power I think, but rather an inbuilt thing that cannot change unless taken out (which we wouldnt want because they sound so cool). Another thing is that apparently 365s were limited to 80mph and not the intended 90 back in the day, because of a problem they had above 80mph, before being modified further to get up to higher speeds. So the mechanisms may have been changed too. But who knows. If they are indeed alstom/metro cammel engines 100% and not a hybrid between ABB/brel and alstom. Then maybe they just dont have the same motors entirely, but rather the thyristors (hope i spelled it right) are the same. But who knows

@@bb-3653maybe they both have the same family of traction inverters but different models, theres a train named cp 2240 that has a very similar sound and it is from alstom too

@@imaginox9 They used to have the same front as a Class 465. From Wikipedia: As part of a project to fit driver's cab air conditioning, all units received new fronts between 2001 and 2002.] In May 2002, 365526 was involved in the Potters Bar accident and was subsequently written off. From August 2002 until January 2003, 365502 was sublet from Connex South Eastern to provide cover. In 2004, all 16 of Connex South Eastern examples (365501 to 365516) were transferred to West Anglia Great Northern to release Class 317s for use by Thameslink. The remaining 40 sets passed with the franchise to First Capital Connect during April 2006. A refurbishment program at Ilford EMU Depot commenced in January 2014. All units passed with the Thameslink, Southern & Great Northern franchise to Govia Thameslink Railway in September 2014.
