Excellent video......I know its been a couple of years since you posted this but could you give a brief overview of the process you use to deliver the spec in terms of loudness, peak....similar to the netflix delivery requirements? I know this is getting way down in the weeds (but hey, we all like weed :) ) Thanks again for all your work and contributions

I've watched the video for about 5 mins, and I'm already overwhelmed by the amount of tracks. Compared to this a mixing template is a "walk in the park" :) Nice video, Thanks a lot!

Hi, great video! I'm using this template to work on a short film and was wondering what's your approach for using very different reverbs in the same reverb track for scenes 1, 3, 5, etc. do you just put all the reverbs and bypass / activate them when needed?

Great template, is there a reason why the SFX reverbs aren't in their SFX bus but the Foley's are? I noticed that the SFX verbs don't have "Master send channels from/" but the Foley verbs do Another thing about the verbs, is it normal that sending audio to them doubles the volume of the sent track? I'd like to have a 100% wet Fabfilter R reverb send but it's impossible because the original dry audio basically plays two times. This also applies to non-verb sens such as distortion and such, sorry I'm new to Reaper I don't know a lot
@IDDQDSound Жыл бұрын
Hey BakaMotion, thanks! To answer your questions: SFX verbs received from the whole sfx bus so that when there are scenes where everything goes to the reverb, I won't have to send 10 layers to busses. Instead I just send the sfx bus entirely to the reverb. The verbs don't go to the master channel because everything is routed to the print tracks. Non-SFX verbs go to their parent then print tracks but sfx verbs go to the sfx stem track. Hope that makes sense. I don't do the same with foley because I honestly rarely if ever use reverb on foley elements. So there is a reverb there but it's rare that I would want every foley element in a scene to go to the reverb. As for the doubling, the template is light on plugins cuz I wanted everyone to be able to use them even if they don't have my plugins, but if you add your own reverb and set the wet to 100% (on Pro R it's the mix as I'm sure you know) you shouldn't get a doubling. If you did let me know, I may have botched a routing somewhere.

@@IDDQDSound Thanks a lot, I've been playing for hours with your template ever since I posted this comment and I think I understood the purpose of the verbs. I assume that for every new verb, it's best to create a new verb track that receives from concerned SFX rather than automating all the parameters of pre existing already routed verb track? I also noticed that your sound effect buses function as folders, I can safely remove this "folder" aspect and make them regular bus tracks right? The downside is that I have to manually route every needed track to their respective buses, but I'd like to keep the folders for organisation sake only. I made a default layout like this: 1.Master 2.Sterms 3.All Buses (alongside VCAs maybe?) . 4.[BG]: A.mono A.stereo B.mono B.stereo 5.[SFX]: A.mono A.stereo B.mono B.stereo 6.[FOLY]: feet cloth prop human 7.[VERBS/DELAY/LFE] verBG.1 verBG.2 verSFX.1 verSFX.2 verFOLY.1 verFOLY.2 delBG.1 delBG.2 delSFX.1 delSFX.2 delFOLY.1 delFOLY.2 lfeBG lfeSFX Are VCAs of any use in this situation, or do the various buses already serve this role since they provide a postFX volume? Sorry for these absurdly noobish questions

Will do! Taking some time to rework my 5.1 template since ReaSurround has changed, but been busy with work lately! Not sure which sliders you're talking about, can you give me a timestamp of where you see them? :)
@GrazianoCammisa2 жыл бұрын
@@IDDQDSound Hi there, thank you for the answer... I don't have a timestamp to give because it's unseen in the video. I found it in the template on the track #16 - Futz1 as a plugin in third position after ReaEQ and ReaComp. Also in the Project Load Warning is said it's not available. It says: ATK/Libraries/workshop/cookdsp_workshop_examples/disto_sliders. Hope this can help!

The solo defeats on your stems prevent me from soloing some tracks. For example trying to solo the track "mx2" will not take into account a bunch of tracks such as foly or SFX. Is there an inconvenient to removing these solo defeats? Still, great template
@IDDQDSound Жыл бұрын
Hmmm that's a really really good point. I solo items with an action that does the item, but yeah that's totally a flaw in the template. The downside to disabling those...I have to be in front of the template to tell you that, but if you tried it lemme know!
@yani.7503 Жыл бұрын
@@IDDQDSound I don't think I've had any issues after disabling them, solos now work properly for all tracks so it's all good now!
