I enjoyed this tutorial, learned a lot. Am new to Reaper and have been learning and using Ableton 11-12 for about two years. Your tutorial showed how to use Reaper to send tracks to Ableton, how is it done the other way, am interested in creating and recording music tracks in Ableton then send them to Reaper for Mixing. Also, I use the PUSH2 system with Ableton and would like to connect all three together to work together. Any feedback and direction for you and anyone that has replied is appreciated. Thanks

Does it actually mean .. that with Ai coming - there is going to be a big boost for Reaper - since it is actually scriptable ? Like Automatic syncing for Foleys ....

is there a way to insert Monitoring FX into other hardware outputs other than 1/2? I found out that Reaper by default only inserts this feature in 1/2 main outputs

NOTE!!! You have to add MINI NOTE FILTER as "IN-FX" / "INPUT FX" . It will appear underneath the record button of each track after you press it. A bit different than adding new FX or VST.

My "Touch" responds exactly like "Latch". In your video, in the Touch part, you can override the envelope, but when you let go of the control, it goes back to the envelope. I'm not experiencing that behavior at all. Driving me nuts. Any idea what's going on? The only way to not screw up my automation is to stop the transport. Should mention I'm using a physical encoder on an Arturia keyboard. EDIT--- yes, it doesn't behave like it should when turning a physical encoder. If I turn the knob on the plugin with the mouse, it does exactly like in your video. How do I get it to respond like the mouse? Thank youuuuuuuuuuuuu

To record MPE MIDI from Ableton Live directly into Reaper, follow these steps: ### Prerequisites 1. **Install ReaRoute ASIO:** During Reaper installation, ensure you select "ReaRoute ASIO" in the optional components section. If it wasn’t installed initially, you may need to reinstall Reaper and check this box. 2. **Ensure MPE is set up in Ableton Live:** Verify that your MIDI controller is properly configured for MPE in Live's MIDI preferences. --- ### Step-by-Step Process #### In Reaper: 1. **Set Up a ReaRoute Input Track:** - Create a new track. - Arm it for recording and set the input to "Stereo > ReaRoute 1/2" (or other ReaRoute channels you prefer). - Enable track monitoring. #### In Ableton Live: 1. **Configure Audio Output to ReaRoute:** - Go to **Options > Preferences > Audio** in Live. - Select "ReaRoute ASIO" as the audio device. - Route the output of your MIDI track to a ReaRoute channel (e.g., 1/2). 2. **Set Up the MIDI Clip:** - Insert or create your MPE MIDI clip in Live. - Assign your MPE-enabled instrument or plugin to the MIDI track. #### Synchronization (Optional): 1. Use MIDI sync or ReWire if you want both DAWs to share a common tempo and playback control. #### Recording: 1. Press **Record** in Reaper and **Play** in Ableton Live. Reaper will capture the audio output of the MPE-enabled track from Live. --- ### Tips: - Ensure both DAWs are running at the same sample rate to avoid audio glitches. - Use higher buffer sizes in both applications if CPU usage spikes. - Test MPE functionality in Ableton with a supported plugin like Serum, Equator, or another MPE-compatible synth. For more details, you can explore guides from the Ableton and Reaper forums, which discuss using ReaRoute and MPE configurations. soure:GPT NOTE: this works i tried it!

Can you help me think through the idea of using this on a Buss... a folder track... that has several instruments (say, three rhythm guitar tracks) in it, but no "item" per se to use for the loudness measurement to generate the initial envelope? Thanks. The only thing i can think of is to render the folder, use that as the basis for the Loudness measurement and automation item, and then discard the rendered file.

Did this guy do drugs before doing these videos ?? because he is moving his cursing at very fast light speed as if he has to take a sh*t. Why do a tutorial like this ?? He is not thinking of the viewer. This is the exact reason I only usually see Reaper Mania Tutorials with Kenny Goia. He takes his time to explain things and moves his cursor slowly so you don't lose the cursor instructions. Google search sent me here. I have no idea why because I learned absolutely nothing with this guy seemingly overly jacked up on something....

If youre on windows i fixed this by increasing all sizes of apps then decreased the ui size to 0.75 in reaper. A few other programs looked too big though but i was able to size down the ui in them independently to get a good balance between ui and text size. Man it took a ton of tinkering to get it to look right though. Also funny that the most customizable daw cant handle such a basic function. People on reddit are actually suggesting buying a bigger monitor ffs.
@petertremblay3725Ай бұрын
@@YAMAGUCCIJP Agree, finally managed to fix it with analog Dessert's ReaperReader script. It's now a bit too big but at least readable on a 3560x1440 screen.

Hi, thanks for your awesome tutorials! They are priceless and really fun to watch! I have a question. How did you create these custom actions to adjust the velocity by lets say 1 db up or down for selected midi note? In the sws actions I can only find a action that adjust every note at the same time. Do you have a video or blog the explains step by step how to create the custom actions you made for velocity? Thanks 🙏

Hi! Thanks so much for explaining so well, brilliant, but one question, I can't seem to increase the number of points it creates, even when my grid is set at 1/32, it still only creates points every 1/4 on the grid, how do you adjust this?

heyy dude. I have a question. do you think it would be possible to make a dubbing script / plugin in reaper? I was thinking of a 3 second timer, that is kind of an overlay, and shows up on top of the video file, in the video player. So basically like recording with preroal in premiere pro. I was also thinking of adding beeping noises. just wanted to ask if this would even be possible, before I sit down and try to learn how to code in reaper.

Does anybody know, why some of instruments doesn't play first note of time selection, when I start to play from the begining of this selection? I've check everytging. Note lenght, matching, volume, envelope... Everything is perfect. I've try to swap first note with the second note and still first note is silent when I try to play from the begining of the time selection. When I start to play treck befere time selection, first note is hearable as it should. Problem repeats only when I start to play from the begining of time selection. The same problem repeats while rendering. There is no first sound. Weird and annoying.

left out a crucial thing: how did you get that window to the right with the midi chase line? I found it. You click on ACTIONS at the top, then type in CHASE in the filter box and you can double click the OFF word in the line about chasing MIDI and that sets it to ON (even though it makes the box suddenly disappear w/o TELLING YOU it turned it on). Anyway, that annoying problem is FIXED. thx
