Yep, any of those seminal straight-edge/core/post-punk bands from that period would be fun. Personally, I'd choose Husker Du/Bob Mould. But Fugazi would be cool (according to Alex Stewart it's very simple). All I know about Mould is that he used SS amps, with a tube amp (Fender Twin, I think) added to his live rig later in his career. MXR Distortion+, Flying V/Strat. That's pretty simple. He records using Line6 modelling!

Cory Wong would be so simple. Squier Strat - I think I’ve seen Jack use an affinity so that’s totally within budget, Fender deluxe reverb and a compressor. Put that thang in fourth position and funk away. Get Nathan or Lee from the bass show to guest star for Joe Dart while they’re at it.
@gustavstefansson24766 жыл бұрын
Zonda599Major Pretty much yea. I wonder though what compressor will do the job. I know Cory uses a comressor in to the amp but when it comes to the vulfcompressor on the track im not shure how they could achieve that sound. I guess they would have to go for live rigs.
@CurstofMaj6 жыл бұрын
gurraplurr yeah I know he uses a Wampler Ego compressor, but they could get anything with a blend knob tbh. And I think they mainly use vulf compressor on stuff like drums and keys - the guitar stuff doesn’t seem to have as much of that vinyl-type squishiness.

This by far is my favorite format for Sounds Like so far. I like seeing you guys search for the right gear, and this video had that (the other recent videos strated to cut a lot of that part to my dismay). On top that, the song demos (which there were plenty in this vid, which I liked a lot), and the gear explanations seemed a lot more streamlined and it was just very consistantly paced and I didn't get bored at all throughout the entire video. This is just my opinion, I still love this series but you guys hit it right on the ball with this video format an I hope this is the norm from now on. Cheers

first they gotta go without busting, i know Syn uses a signature Schecter with a SD Invader in the bridge and a Sustainer in the neck, andertons have it but they can't get it for $1500 so something with Seymour Duncans and a floyd rose will sort them out well, he used to use marshall and now has a signature Hellwin head, so Marshall DSL amp, for pedals they need a compressor & chorus for buried alive's intro, a good distortion for the high gain parts and a wah for the requiem guitar solo for Zacky he also has a signature Schecter and his too is too expensive but i know he has JB Humbuckers by Seymour Duncan so they could find a JB equiped guitar, for amps he has Jet City but andertons don't have them anymore so they need something high gain like a Boss KT or Egnater Tweaker, his pedals include a MXR Black Label Chorus for Bat Country and some other stuff but i don't really remember, so i'll say chorus, drive and anything else in case
