Hi Steven, this piece is really fun to play. Rob´s interpretation even adds harmonics and counterpounts, bass lines so although it´s my first time here, I´ll definitely come back to it. Hope you print and learn it! It´s already public domain, just google: "sons de carrilhões joão pernambuco pdf".

I have loved playing this piece. I am nowhere near playing it as masterfully as you. I love the smile on your face at the end. That is how I feel too when I play it. It is a fun song. I also have to thank you for your amazing instructions regarding no nail playing. I have played steel string and banjo for years and shied away from learning classical guitar thinking I needed to grow out my nails, a literal impossibility with how much I use my hands for my hobbies and work. Your beautiful no-nail playing emboldened me and I have been learning classical guitar for the last year now and loving it. So thank you.
@RobMacKillop17 ай бұрын
Hi Nicholas. I'm so pleased you are playing. That's all that matters. This whole nail versus no-nail thing is stupid. Just play, play, play. As for "the Sound of Bells", I used to play it in wine bars and Spanish restaurants in Edinburgh, where everyone ignored me all night long. But when I recorded it here, I hadn't played it for twenty years. I spent half an hour with it, trying to memorise it (I haven't got a score anymore) and just messing around with it. I was really enjoying the piece and also exploring what for me were new strings I hadn't played before. It was just a fun hour. And I haven't played it since making the video. So much music to explore!
