I commend today in April of 2024. See how this so old, yet so appreciated in recent years. They gave their deep reflection to a generation to come so complex. Today, we hear you but do not listen.

I kept awake on guard duty in the raining jungle in Vietnam in 1969-1970 by silently playing these songs in my mind. I still know most of their old songs by heart. By far, the greatest folk artists of the 60s-70s.

Things were probably worse, with the war and all the civil unrest. College kids being gunned down and King and The brother Kennedys....Blacks beaten and ripped apart by dogs....BUT we were still one nation then and had the BEST music in mankind's history...which all the unrest brought out from the poets and their guitars

The greatest duo of my generation. I'm 70 years old now . I first heard about Simon and Garfunkle in 1966,still in high school back home in the Philippines. since then I got hooked and started collecting anything of Paul and Art. Read their bios and watch everything about them. got to see them in houston when they got back together. Though they aged ,they sound the same and even better. Paul"s genius with words and guitar playing,coupled with Art angelic voice ,i never get tired listening to them.Thanks guys.

I agree, i like their voices more in live performances than on record.
@debrakish96593 жыл бұрын
I agree. I enjoy their live performances more than the recordings too just in order to see and appreciate their great talents more. And they were both very handsome back in the day, especially Art. Check out their other performances on here. There are lots of them, both from their earliest days on television to their most "recent" concerts from the 2000s. I loved their show from Denver, Colorado which I watched here. They were chatty with the audience and very friendly towards each other. A pure joy to watch. I was too young to have ever appreciated them when they were together but am so grateful that I can watch them here now.

Garfunkel, introducing the song at a live performance (with Simon) in Harlem, June 1966, summed up the song's meaning as "the inability of people to communicate with each other, not particularly intentionally but especially emotionally, so what you see around you are people unable to love each other."

Loved them then & love them “NOW!” Amazing songs from them both but this song is “my favorite!” There voices in unison singing this song( & others) never fails to give me “tingles!). ...So melodic & so beautiful!!!
