Long ago, there once was a powerful group in WWE that went by the name of 3MB. They were so powerful, they had to be disbanded out of fear from the rest of the roster. The members of 3MB were thought to be lost in obscurity forever until they all 3 members were found once again. To prevent them from reaching it's former glory, each member were sent to Raw, Smackdown Live, & NXT to divide their power equally amongst the kingdoms.

Jim Ross hasn't lost a beat in his commentary style. I can't speak for everyone else but his commentary Exposed how BAD the current commentary team is. My personal opinion is that Cory Graves needs to pull double duty on Raw and Smackdown. I'm not offended by Cole on Raw, but JR needs to do Smackdown.
@tisvelocity2907 жыл бұрын
Cole's fine, however since he's apparently wanted to be more behind the scenes and leave the commentary team, I'd love to see JR take his role and have Mauro return to be Smackdown's play by play. The only thing I hate is Otunga and Saxton.
@TONYGILLEY7 жыл бұрын
The big thing that I never really thought about or noticed until JR came back is the periods of silence in the commentary. I get it when the talent do something in the ring to tell their story. Ex: HBK telling Ric Flair "I love you" before putting him down. But it's ridiculous the amount of quiet time in the commentary I started to notice the crowds not reacting much.

Really good review, only thing I really disagree with is when Roman went for that final spear, I think him hitting the ropes on either side was part of the storytelling, looked to me like it was to confuse Undertaker and supercharge a spear, since the normal ones couldn't get the job done?

Unfortunately, yes. JBL was insufferable at times during the main event. More so than Michael Cole and that's saying a lot. Jim Ross, as always, was awesome. AND......Jim Ross put over Roman Reigns in under 30 seconds with TALKING ALONE, making him look like a million bucks as opposed to the 3-year timeframe that they've failed at. Not to mention, Jim Ross pretty much exposed how BAD the announcing is on all of the WWE programs. Easily, he blew everyone away with his commentary. And he wasn't even at 100%. Obviously, with his wife tragically dying, he wasn't all there. But even that didn't stop him for being really good at the announce table.

I agree that the Wyatt/Orton match wasn't very good, but I always expected Orton to win. That was the story they were telling: Orton loses to Bray last year (thanks to Harper), he joins the Family in order to tear them apart, then triumphs at the end & wins the title. I still say their story didn't need the title involved in the first place, but they did what they did. Bray's been mishandled for a long time now.

I just looked through WWE's KZbin channel and saw the Cena/Bella proposal has well over 3 million views. I wish the two of them would buy an island somewhere and NEVER be on my television ever again. gotta tell ya Jason, what you are saying about the Undertaker affecting you/people..... you are so right. I have only gotten emotional one other time watching wrestling (been watching since 1992, you and I are roughly the same age... and btw. yes, 1992 was a GREAT year.. but back to the point) and that was HBK's RAW speech the night after 26, because i lived, breathed and died HBK all my wrestling life, and I was always an Undertake fan, but not a die-hard, but wow, that really affected me. Eyes did ball up a little, and thought back to me watching superstars in 92 with my Dad in our living room and this grey gloved guy with the creepy manager holding the urn. Wow. and everything flashed in front of me in an instance. A 1/4 century in a flash. That got to me. This man is .... an "Institution" you could not have said it any better.

While the Tombstone reversal botch was very cringe, I thought the spot where Reigns hit the ropes twice for the last spear was brilliant psychology. It made Taker look strong (it took the extra momentum to finally finish him with a THIRD spear), and at the same time it made him look weak (he just couldn't keep up with the young guys anymore). In my opinion, it was a great way to finish Taker's last match.

I was shocked to learn Reigns is now their top merch seller. AJ Styles was killing it just prior but I guess something changed... inexplicably. At any rate, I haven't heard any news about him drawing house show numbers, last I heard (about three months back) was that he wasn't a draw. And just last month Dave Meltzer reported that Reigns main evented Raws weren't really making a difference when it came to moving the needle as far as ratings. So, until he starts doing so, I wouldn't go so far as to call Reigns "money" just yet. Vince certainly wants him to be and has done everything in his power (even going so far as censoring crowd noise and editing crowd reaction from other wrestlers/matches into Reign's and his matches) to twist public perception of Roman as being money, but he's not just yet. I really don't understand the Roman Reigns fandom (cause while it's not the majority, it does exist) and their constant dislike of the "hate" Reigns' push has gotten. I mean it's pretty merited. He does have the look and he's now the second best wrestler of the Shield (Dean just didn't bother to improve as much as Reigns in this regard) but his push is full of so much corporate, manipulative BS that if this were coming from anything other than wrestling a lot more people would be appalled and outraged to the point of repulsion.

I was only interested in the Bayley match because she's my favorite wrestler now but the other matches blew me away. Shane McMahon did a lot of moves to AJ Styles I've never seen him do before : submission holds, shooting star presses, small package pins. The Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens match was excellent, even though Y2J came up short. So was the Bayley match (which was all I cared about at first) then the Hardy Boyz coming back was the icing on the cake even though it was also sad because this is the last time we see The Undertaker.
@miskatonic62107 жыл бұрын
They protected the Styles Clash quite well. I guess you couldn't see it and you had no commentary. Styles only locked one of Shanes arms in so the impact was sold as a lot weaker and it really looked weaker and safe. It was very well done.

The closest thing to a *sort of* semi-clean loss for Goldberg that I can remember was the Triple Threat Match with Kane and Triple H at Armageddon 2003. I mean, there was interference after Goldberg hit them both with spears, but that wasn't unambiguously the decisive moment in the match. The finish was Kane and Goldberg choking eachother, then Triple H low blowed Goldberg (which was legal), and Kane chokeslamed him. Batista pulled Kane out of the ring, and Triple H pins him. So yeah, Triple H wins with interference, but it was more Kane who gets screwed out of the World Title rather than Goldberg.

someone on wrestling news source suggested (supposedly from WWE creative but take that as you will) that he'll do a retirement "speech" on Raw (next week I'd guess if he was gonna now since he didn't tonight, makes sense too if so since it will feature the entire roster in a draft shake up), and Sting will interrupt it....leading to the match with them everyone always wanted to see. Whether it happens remains to be seen, but it'd be something.....if they did do that, I'd LOVE to see the Bad Ass Taker come out one last time for it (I thought he might at Mania even with the whole yard discussion thing going in), and see him go out (along with Sting) as himself basically since he has hung up the Taker outfit seemingly for good. Time will tell though but that would be amazing. (BTW as a sidenote you left out my favorite part of the Cena/Miz mixed tag w/Roker....him calling himself chocolate thunder, I was like "he really just said that didn't he?" lol)

Agree with you on everything except Taker vs Roman. I really like the match for what it was & especially for the condition he is in. You misinterpreted the final spear as a botch. Roman intentionally ran across the ropes to get more speed and momentum to launch into a super spear sort of cause Taker kicked out of 3 normal spears in a row. Baffled that Solomonster thinks this show was better than Mania 31. That show had even less hype going into it than this one, and every single match delivered. IC Ladder match had the Bryan win, Orton hit the best RKO yet, nWo vs DX, Rusev came out on a freakin tank, Ronda rousey, and the best MITB cash in of all time. This show had a good Shane and AJ match, and Lesnar v Goldberg was good. The rest was not on the level of 31 imo

It's a shame TNA/Impact Wrestling are still putting The Broken Gimmick through a legal wrangling. That's why we haven't seen Matt and Jeff fully in character. Hints were dropped here and there, the fans chanted "Delete! Delete! Delete!" and "Obsolete! Obsolete! Obsolete!" , Matt ran with it, he's still using the "Broken Jargon" every now and then, sliding a bit into the accent and so on. But until the lawsuit is over and The Hardyz come out victorious, I'm afraid the "Broken" gimmick will remain dormant.
