Placebo - Steve Forrest Kit Walkthrough [SJC + Zildjian]

We were at Brixton Academy recently to meet Placebo sticksman Steve Forrest, so he could talk us through his setup! It was great to meet Steve, he was really cool, & he hits his drums hard! So thanks Steve for taking the time to chat with us so we could make this video for everyone! Steve plays SJC drums & Zildjian cymbals.

As for his accent, he is from California. He went to high school with my best friend and was always a good drummer. I dont really know his whole back story but he eventually moved to the UK and got the gig as Placebo's drummer. He's from Hilmar, CA, a small town in California's central valley. He's even been to my house a few times for some bon fires and beer drinking. Nice guy and I m glad he found success doing what he loves.

He's from Modesto California. I've heard him say it in interviews. I have no idea why he has an accent. Maybe joining UK based bands did that to him.

u either feel or calculate, sometimes geniuses combine the two. That's reality, mate. ;( Someone is Professional(word PROFESSION =WORK) and someone is making great music not bothering about the size, but caring only about the feel and sound. There is only one Led Zeppelin, one Black Sabbath, one Jamiroquai, that's not for everyone, sadly.

Buddy Rich never knew how to tune a kit and got someone to do it for him. Tech's arent just to build the kit the artist has, its to make improvements and recommendations to make the kit sound as good as it can.
