I actually think separating the phone volume from the speaker volume is a good idea. Most people instinctually turn their phone volume to max, but with how loud this speaker gets, you don't want that. Having a hard volume limit set on the speaker just makes more sense. They should've added an option to change the behavior though.

I own a Soundboks Go myself and for me it is perfect. I dont use it when i am indoors (quality is just not that good, I use stereo system at home instead), but i absolutly love this device for partys outdoors! No matter where, all the people start dancing. I only have to power on the go and start playing music

I'm looking for something that I can take on the river, or to the beach, and can be heard from a good distance away. (Over wind and wave noise) How would you rate it for that?

I think the go would be perfect for that. It is not too big to carry, and the strap makes it easy to just grab it and go. The battery is awesome aswell. I never got it empty in 1 night. And the sound is very good for the size of the speaker. It really is a party speaker. You should easily be able to hear the music over wind and waves no problem. It really gets pretty loud (I am always surprised by how loud it gets when I turn it up full volume, regardless of how often I heard it already)

You have to consider that the Soundboks Go is smaller than a Partybox and still delivers way better sound (not quality-wise but loudness-wise) . Partybox sounds like a toy next to Soundboks Go

yes u have a button on the battery which lights up LEDs, depending on how much battery life is left (5 LEDs is full, only one LED is low)

This speakers is amazing. The prests are trash though. Just go to costum EQ and add a little bit of bass et highs and your good to go. The power and bass in this is real you just have to know how to use it. It as the SKAA technologie, which is pretty interesting if you are a dj like my self who wants to dj without using cables and have no latency.

Heyy there, you can set bass plus for example as your standard then you don't have to go to the app every tipe you start up

The sound quality is good. I use a Denon Prime Go for the source. And I am able to get whatever sound I want. The JBL stuff is not comparable. This thing gets way louder & it's bass is good along with the swappable battery. I had mine in the forest preserve recently and it could be heard for a pretty good distance. It does everything like a little brother to the Soundboks 3. I have both. Both speakers are slightly overpriced. But nothing on the market gets as loud & clean as my QSC K-series speakers. This does. And those are professional grade PA speakers. If you want professional non gimmick speakers buy this. If you want lights and gimmicks get the JBL. They are more consumer. And this is more pro-sumer.

You seem to be a JBL hater and a Soundboks fanboy. Therefore people already know your opinion is biased. Most people agree about the fact that Jbl's partybox speakers are very good portable speaker with balanced and loud overall sound. Light effects don't take anything from their sound capabilities. And for the price, they're are legit speakers that will satisfy even the "pro-sumer" for casual/party listening. Soundboks are loud speakers and they sound very good too. Better than the JBL's ? maybe, maybe not, lot of people would probably disagree over this but I'm not going to mistake my opinion for facts on this matter since I haven't listened to the more recent Soundboks. Also, the truth about Soundboks is that they are overpriced speakers. They are for consumers who have money and who want to have something "better" than anyone else. Now I love the Soundboks speakers don't get me wrong, but to say that these are "pro-sumer" speaker while you're listening to music playing from your phone throughout bluetooth connectivity sounds dumb.

@@wyatthunter987You said all of that to a person who likes JBL. I had JBl before they started making these bluetooth speakers. I had the professional stuff. I made a comment from the professional point of view. I have been a DJ before everyone wanted to be one. The party box stuff is not aimed at a pro-sumer. I like the Soundboks speakers because they are the closest thing to a professional pa speaker. I agree they are a bit overpriced. I have owned many speakers. JBL was one of my first professional speakers. And they hit hard. But keep in mind I speak from a professional point. I think you have valid points. Just don't think I don't like JBL.

The thing that really sets Soundboks apart from almost anything on the market is the massive swappable Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) Battery. So as a prosumer you can take a spare battery with them just in case you need it, and it being LFP means you can use it in freezing sub-zero temperatures or scorching heat that no other battery powered speaker on the market would survive. The durability and reliablity is a key aspect of what makes it appealing to serious prosumers.

@@SaturnusDK Those are my exact feelings. Very well made comment. I like all of the Soundboks competition. I actually would by JBL or Diamondboxx. My point is the Soundboks is a more pro-sumer product. That's just my opinion. 😊

basically an overpriced tweeter...just the design, battery system and loudness are great but all the other facts really should make you decide to not buy it. maybe for 450 -500 euro but not a penny more
