For a studio situation I can see the benefits however if I am using my UI24 to record a live show I simply capture the multitrack onto USB and then import the stems into Reaper to mix down

I'm guessing this setup is better than using the internal multitrack recorder direct to usb?

Hi, “Better” is subjective. The internal multitrack works well too. It just depends what you’re trying to accomplish. If you’re playing live and don’t want to lug a computer with you for multitracking, then the USB function is great. It will give you tracks that you can pull into a DAW later on for further editing. But if you want to multitrack and manipulate those tracks at the same time, then having them go right into a DAW gives you that ability. An example of this would be a live show that you also wanted to stream. Have a second person mixing in the DAW to create a “broadcast” mix tailored specifically for your streaming. Is it possible to use plugins during live? If so, how's the latency?

Hi, Possible…yes. Ideal…probably not, but it depends on exactly what you’re doing. I have not tested this so I can’t give you latency numbers. It would also vary depending on the plugins used. There will be a small amount of latency sending mixer audio to Reaper. Then there will be an additional amount of latency coming back from reaper to the mixer. And any plugins you add will potentially increase the return latency more. This does not mean you can’t do it. You would have to test it and see if the latency is something you can live with. Some people are far more sensitive to it than others.

I have a issue with reaper daw. If i follow your staps on the pc i have coming audio in from te uir24 to reaper. But i don’t get audio back from reaper in the uir24. I do exactly wat you are showing me. What kan it by ?? Thanks for helping

Hi, i'm experiencing an issue with my DAW where only channels 17-32 are working, and channels 1-16 aren't coming through. I've checked my setup, but I can't seem to figure out what's causing the problem. Do you have any advice or suggestions on how to troubleshoot this issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
