Obviously some(not all) of the people commenting did not listen to a word he said before starting to play. 1- It’s a parody of glam metal songs and their euphemisms for sex. 2- He said it was also a sing along. 3- Don’t ever disparage him(my words) 4- Fuck You(my words, too)

I think he was a tad serious too in this song but of course back then with all those "serious" Seattle bands who hated that Cornell would take his shirt off on stage, he had to play it off as "a joke" or be looked at his trying to sell sex, but I prefer to think he was singing to me as well LOL Can you believe the one bassist quit over Chris taking his shirt off on stage? What a pus!

@@natalie1643 Great. Finally someone who explained what Chris was doing with that song. It's a pretty low brow song but then so is "You Shook Me All Night Long" and thousands of other songs like The Lemon Song, Traveling Riverside Blues, Rattlesnake Shake, and for a modern and sickening song WAP or Wet Ass Pussy. I think it's all the same but I'd prefer not to have the imagery that many songs give you with more explicit lyrics. I just learned recently that Imaginary Lover by the Atlanta Rhythm Section was about masturbation. I could have done without knowing that. I didn't know that for probably 40 years but now that I do, jeez, I have that information to sleaze up my enjoyment of what I thought was a really great song. Now it's not as great a song as I thought it was. Now it's a little more low brow than I would have wanted it to be. It's like the channel here called The Onion. They have some videos that instead of focusing on a recent marriage just says that so and so are now FUCKING each other and they want the world to know. Yeah, that's a lot of what a marriage tells the world but officially and formally with some air of dignity and refinement. Thanks for the reply.

@@adambutterfield2307 that's the reason why it's grunge. Grunge is a huge mixture of different types of harsh punk genres and metal and hard rock. So it really isn't inaccurate to say they are grunge. That's why there were grunge bands who sound similar but the majority all sound different. Pearl Jam is hard rock and blues, Soundgarden is Heavy metal and Hard rock. Alice In Chains is Heavy metal hard rock and some blues too. They all are not mainly any of those things but have all those elements in small ways mixed together. So to me it makes sense to call soundgarden grunge

@@adambutterfield2307 also can't deny how distorted and fuzzy their earlier work was. It was definitely underground grunge when they first started off
