It was definitely a Great time to be alive. I was only 19 pushing 20 when this whole Seattle music scene happened and it was freaking amazing! Finally some really cool music from people who are actually talking about something other than partying and how fun life is. And from people who looked normal and dressed normal and not in spandex and leathers with their hair teased to the ceiling wearing makeup. Just some regular looking people making great music. It really did change everything during that short time and thank God! I was so sick of seeing and hearing those hair metal bands from the 80s! It was ridiculous! I remember listening to a lot of Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and classic rock back then wishing someone would come out with some good music for our generation instead of that hair metal crap and then Nirvana happens and the rest is history!

I know this is old, but I’ve seen two better. One was from 1990 in Germany where he just kills Beyond the Wheel and one I don’t think is a video, but on YT as an audio recording on the Sunset Strip in 1989 and he’s even singing I Awake in a higher register than on the album. He also puts down hair bands and the price of beer in LA at the time somewhere in the performance, too, which I thought was funny. Lol

What a fantastic time to be alive!!! I wish I had known I was living in the earliest of the best days of my life while I was in the midst of it. All of these bands Chris mentioned and more. Tons of acid during our summer breaks from school, stories nobody would even believe. Every single time I meet someone who wasn’t part of our gang in Americas hometown, as they call it, have their jaws on the. Floor upon hearing the mischief we got in June or the things we did in the things we took, when I say took, I mean like drug wise. We were eating so much acid at an early age that I quit eating it at age 14 as a result of a bad trip
