This is my favorite isolated track channel on the KZbins. Love the format, the enthusiasm, the SFX...all of it! Hats off to y'all. And closing in on 4k subs! Keep up the good work guys.

The chorus effect is a rotary speaker from a Fender Vibratone.

It is a Leslie 16 speaker connected to an amp on both Kim´s and Chris guitar, confirmed by Michael Bihorn who produced it

Grohl said he and Krist got to listen to an advance copy as they were in the studio working on You Know You're Right. Grohl was floored that a band could find that perfect balance between The Beatles and Black Sabbath

I thought I lost you guys! My ears welcome you back. Epic tune, definitely art! No hit chasing, us musos love this. It's like Sgt. Pepper, you need 12 guys (or girls) to play it live. Drummers! Don't be afraid of the snare clang! Definitely not a laboratory mix, it's demoish, noisy, a moment in time, hard to recreate. Best episode ever, love the new set!!!

Sooo glad I found you guys from this video. As someone who is all taste and no talent, I love watching experts geek out to music I love. All the hidden beauty you guys unearthed is like finding buried treasure. Would LOOOOVE to see you isolate SPOONMAN from the same album so I can hear Artis’ spoon solo isolated as well as Matt’s crazy percussions and the cowbell. MORE COWBELL!!!! RIP Chris, you magnificent fucking melodic godhead.

31:14 Michael Beinhorn has stated that Chris blew out 5 microphones during vocal tracking. This is a good candidate for one of the places that happened. Thank you guys for this. For years, this song was somewhat diminished for me by sheer oversaturation -- and it still chafes that so many people only know Soundgarden as "Black Hole Sun" -- but hearing all the little nuances has reawakened me to its wonder. And yes, his isolated vocals did make me cry.

Thanks for being in it with us ! 100% believe he blew those microphones up!

I'm telling you the verses of Black Hole Sun have almost the same melody (slowed way down) as Gus Kahn and Walter Donaldson's Makin' Whoopee from 1928.Try singing these verses from Makin Whoopee instead of Cornell's sometime... "Another bride, another June Another sunny honeymoon Another season, another reason For makin' whoopee A lot of shoes, a lot of rice The groom is nervous, he answers twice It's really killin' that he's so willin' To make whoopee..."

@ I would never miss a chance to hear his vocals isolated, be it Spoonman, Outshined, Burden in my Hand, Rhinosaur, Pretty Noose, Fell on Black Days or any other song he takes on, be it with Temple of the Dog, Audioslave, or on his own playing acoustic, I will always check it out. Personally, Burden in my Hand would be an absolutely pleasure to hear with his voice isolated but honestly, pick any song he’s on and you can’t lose. Keep doing what y’all are doing gents and stay golden…

My 12 year old self was never the same. They were beyond any band or style, and still light-years ahead of most even today. The song is Biblical and maybe he didn't even know it. YHWH chose them. That's how good this was. Revelation 6:12 *And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood* There's levels to everything.
