Godamn. Soundgarden really could run the whole gamut of atmosphere. Heavy, fast, slow, dissonant, melodic, psychadelic, folk, blues, metal or any number of other styles. Chris is and always will be sorely missed. What a brilliant songwriter and singer for such a great band that could never begin to find anyone to even begin to fill the void left behind.

There are so many psychedelic, trippy, yet heavy riffs that are signature Thayil, and a rumbling, driving bassline that only Ben can write. Those two definitely steal the show in this song, epic!

AMAZON PURCHASE INFO: Among the seven unreleased tracks is a brand-new recording, 'Storm,' recorded in May with producer Jack Endino in Seattle. The new collection was curated and hand-selected by guitarist Kim Thayil. 'Echo Of Miles: Scattered Tracks Across The Path' is the first time an official Soundgarden release has included more than 26 years of rarities that have appeared as B-sides, album bonus tracks, EPs, soundtracks, compilations and live recordings, a must for any fan of the band. The package features three separate thematic discs in a clear plastic slipcase with three separate mini-jackets, each sporting its own unique art, a booklet and inserts, allowing fans to mix and match, personalizing their own album graphic layout.

Soundgarden today still sounds like grunge unlike Pearl Jam which sounds like another Rock band.
@carolinamartins16157 жыл бұрын
Bob P. when will people realize that grunge is not a music genre? if you consider AiC, nirvana, soundgarden and PJ all 4 grunge bands, then, youll know that all those 4 have distinct styles. AiC really do stand out from all the above, considered a heavy metal band, while nirvana, as you may know, are more into the punk rock scene. soundgarden (more than audioslave, ofc) stand out by mixing various genres from the mentioned, maybe considered the truest, more genuin grunge groove. PJ was always a rock band, but they succeeded in the grunge movement, so they stick to that.
@ivanbardarov31016 жыл бұрын
Carolina Martins Many rock bands have big differences in their styles but they still can be called rock bands. This is the same with grunge. These bands have different styles, but they have common things that allow us to call them grunge. Very good singers with belting voices, strange guitar tunings, odd rythms, specific chord progressions and on the top of all this is Soundgarden.

Pearl Jam kept the grunge style for the better part of twenty years; Now they have experimented with other styles/sounds, but in my opinion they've earned the right to sound however they wish to sound. Both PJ and Soundgarden are fantastic bands, either way.
