Before the internet you felt so lucky to stumble across such a video on television. And the enthusiasm would grow to buy the record because of such a rare treat. All the associations leading up to buying the record, physically, would only add to the experience. In the digital age of consuming music - we’ve lost something precious.

many people say how can a person like chris who was so loved do what he did..the problem is no matter how much other people love you, how much money, fame and cars you have, there is only one person we spend our whole lives with, YOU. if You dont love You, there is no fix. I speak from experience, and it saddens me to see chris and chester gone now, as I lost my father. A man so deeply admired by so many, The real sadness is that the person didn't find the love in themselves to stick around. We all want to cry and say he left us, but he also left himself. Stay good everyone and love yourself.

He belongs in Soundgarden, that's his sound completely. With Pearl jam he sounds like Pearl jam, an it's still tight, but I feel like Soundgarden is more him, he shines through better with them an it's his o.g band.

So young... there was a time where I scoffed at depression and anxiety, where I judged those who talked about how "down" they were with flippant disregard... till I went through it myself. I can tell you from experience, it isn't really being low, it's the up and down, and when it comes in waves, overwhelming you, drowning you in negativity, fear, and when it seems like it takes all your effort just to take a breath, it is really really hard to cling to whatever remnants of positivity (if any) you have left. Mine was event based and thank goodness temporary, but it gave me at least a little insight into what it is like for those who have chronic depression and how difficult it is to live with it. Never talk down, never judge, until you've walked in their shoes. I used to do just that, never again. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

This is one of my favourite Soundgarden tracks. Sounds still so refreshing compared to much of current rock music. Soundgarden were one of the most sophisticated grunge era bands with their chord structures. Their chord structures are just so fucking cool especially on songs like this. And I've always loved Matt Cameron's drumming, a very essential part of the Soundgarden sound just like Dave Grohl was for Nirvana. They are both drummers who's playing draws ones attention unlike many other drummers.

I remember the day this album came out. It was really sunny, late spring and my girlfriend picked me up from school in her green Honda Accord. We drove around listening to the album...she had a denim mini skirt on, and it became increasingly hard for me to pay attention to the cd. I made it through though...Thanks for the memories Jennifer. Man she had some legs!! P.S. I went to Lollapolooza that summer to see Soundgarden, Metallica, The Ramones, Screaming Trees, etc. What a great time in my life, I was 18 and everything was wonderful. She broke my heart 3 years later, but when I hear a Soundgarden song I am back in that Honda, totally in love with her, the music, the sunshine, denim skirts...

It is not easy, and sometimes it feels like it gets worse the older I get, but I am trying my best!! I've made it 48 years so far ☺ To anyone out there who is suffering from the same feelings, just know that you are not in this alone, and I love you. ♥ Anyway, that's all I have to say. I dedicate 2021 to Soundgarden. Can't believe it took me till age 26/27 to really get into them. I was (and still am) an Alice in Chains fanboy lol, but for this strange period in my life, SG has just really struck a chord or two. I remember when Chris died a few years ago and I thought "damn, that's a bummer." Now... I very much wish the guy was still around making music.. or just living his own life for that matter.

Werd. I was about 12 when grunge exploded through '92, and it was the perfect soundtrack for that interesting and mind-expanding transition from preteen to teenager. Soundgarden...Alice In Chains...Nirvana...Pearl Jam....Temple of the Dog...Mother Love Bone...Helmet...Chili Peppers...Faith No More...STP...Metallica...GnR...Tool. What a time to be alive. My world revolved around MTV, anime, videogames (Were you a Genesis or Super Nintendo guy?), and cute girls. Pretty much like my world today (minus MTV...RIP), but it was all fresh and new and exciting back then.

Depression is truly an awful thing and it pains me so much that a man so loved and who had so much to live for could see no light at the end of the tunnel... Josefine Lea well said for I know exactly how he felt,as I myself deal with the same battles as he did&then some&have my whole life...sadly,there's not much that we can do to help ourselves with the battles that come from within ourselves,as well as on the outside...all we can do though,is to keep up the good fight and rage against the awful storms that come from within or out,to save ourselves from this beautiful thing we call life, but yet a lot of times,it's very sad&ugly...I pray that this beautiful man's truly at peace now,he was such a talented, sweet, humble&beautiful soul, that only wanted to sing his wonderful music with his phenomenal voice&to truly be loved, the way that he loved, which was wholeheartedly...I myself, don't think that he ever got that...#RIPUSWEETAMAZINGBEAUTIFULMAN #ILLALWAYSLOVEU#UWNBF 😍😔❤️💔✝️🎶🎤🎸🔊

"'Fell on Black Days' was like this ongoing fear I've had for years ... It's a feeling that everyone gets. You're happy with your life, everything's going well, things are exciting-when all of a sudden you realize you're unhappy in the extreme, to the point of being really, really scared. There's no particular event you can pin the feeling down to, it's just that you realize one day that everything in your life is fucked." If you've seen "The End of the Tour" you will find that these words are stunningly similar to things that David Foster Wallace (who also hanged himself) said. RIP, Chris
