Great amps that last for decades but what is a real surprise is how good their digital sources sound.I have never heard an Accuphase CD player or DAC that does not sound natural,open and unstrained.Even the really old ones.And that is not easy to achieve with digital.With the vast majority of digital you know you are listening to digital even though it can be good in a digital sort of way.With Accuphase you do not get that sort of sound -you just get the music.Whatever their approach is I believe they have the secret recipe that almost no other company has.At least not consistently like Accuphase.

"Pre Out Front" from the AV, to the „Main" on the E 480. But the volume, I think, is then controlled by the AV, because you only use the amplifier section from the E 480.

I think they make nice products BUT like others here are saying their prices in the US are so marked up they aren't worth it. You can get the same quality for far less with other companies products!

We are aware that in the US the prices of Accuphase are more expensive relative to other regions and so we understand if they can appear ‘overpriced’. But we would still argue that if you want the absolute best sound, Accuphase is still the answer, and the premium price is just what you have to pay to get it. Check out the video comparing Accuphase, Luxman and Yamaha integrated amplifiers by Zero Fidelity. He does a great explanation on what the Accuphase does that comparable amps can’t.

In FACT here on KZbin, Jays Audio Lab talks specifically about this exact topic and this completely backs up my statement. Thank you for this video!!!! I have decided that I am stepping up to Accuphase. I am looking to get a pair of B&W 805 D3 or the 705 Sig but until I do, I have the B&W CDM 9NT, in your opinion will the E270 be enough for the CDM 9NT’s? 🙈. I listen at ‘low’ volume & really am only interested in clarity & detail & am happy to add a REL for this purpose. This is an older video so I do not expect a reply but with your experience I sure would be incredibly grateful for your input!!! It’s quite a lot of money to make a mistake 🙈🙈. Kind regards, Stu. Hello, B&W speakers from our experience always appreciate more power than you think they need. For thespeakers you mentioned I would recommend the E-380.

Depends on the speakers you use. Personally after listening to them both we find the E-380 to have a slightly more 'musical' sound than the 480, but if you have thirsty speakers that require more power, the benefits of having a more powerful amplifier in that instance would be worth it.

Not sure what sync issues you’re referring to. I just rewatched the video and apart from the part at the very beginning where our lapel mics cut out and we had to use the ambient mic audio, it all sounded ok to me.
