Recently I decided to buy a small sound recorder (Sony PCM-A10) along with a pair of stereo external mics (Clippy EM272), inspired by the fantastic work of George Vlad. I tried to record in several locations but only this one made the cut. At first, it seems quite straightforward to record the sounds of nature, but once on location you quickly realize how easy it is to include all sort of noises and disturbances into the recording, even in remote places. This particular soundscape was recorded on top of pyramid at El Tintal, during our exploration of El Mirador, an ancient Mayan complex lost in the middle of the Guatemalan lowland jungle.
