evenings change... a dj is a person that talk and play music but now with technology improvements a dj can be a LD and give value to his trade. some DJ stick to play music and move the crow and leave the lighting to the others... I dislike the guys that try to cover everything but instead just mess things up and gives DJs and LDs a bad name.

This is the first piece of gear I’ve ever bought on launch day. Had an ACP Mini for a year but I’ve been dragging my feet about getting it properly mapped and labeled. For $300 I had to jump on this. Thanks for the review CT

I've been using Denon dj prime 4 lighting and I love it. For serato i had to midi map an akai controller. I'm glad soundswitch has a controller. I'm definitely going to buy this controller. When I do gigs many people come to me and love the lighting experience. I had the frozen movie theme kids party. With soundswitch i made all my lights turn blue when they did a dance performance. I enjoy using soundswitch.

So you feel this would be a good add to the P4? I've SS V1 and am not sure it makes sense. I ordered a P$ and have not received it yet. I am waiting to get it so I can mess with the Engine Lighting pages see how that goes for me. I'm a gear head so I'm trying to brake the habit of getting stuff for convenience over need.

I've been out of the lighting production since C-19 March 2020. I remember the original soundswitch box. I started looking around at what new these days. I see you have a gigbar. I have the old version Gigbar IRC. It was nice to see it upgraded with some small movers. Nice new interface from what I've seen so far. Game changer for DJ's. The Gigbar IRC was my first lighting rig. The two universe is a good feature to have.

Riiight!!! I have two akai controllers I’ve been using that’s taking up 3 ports. This thing reduces the number of USBs used down to 1. One Dj controller and one dmx lighting …. ✅ …Would be dope if it worked with iOS for Algoriddim DJ, I think my iPad Pro is up for the job.

What is the release date? There are barely any pre-orders set up. Looks like more shops are ready in the UK right now. Is ordering direct from Sound Switch okay if you are in the US? I have not bought from them direct.

For anyone ready the title of the video the Control One isn't a Stand Alone controller unless you're running Engine hardware, it requires a connection to the SoundSwitch software, .
@ClevelandTerry Жыл бұрын
It literally says Soundswitch Control One in the title. 😀 Not sure how that would be confusing
@SeanBannister Жыл бұрын
@@ClevelandTerry unsure if you misunderstood my comment? What I'm referring to is the title calls the Control One a "Stand Alone DMX Lighting Controller" this term usually refers to lighting hardware that can be used without software. Whereas SoundSwitch requires a connection to a computer to operate unless you have Engine hardware. The reason for my comment is I've always presumed my controller could be used stand alone until just now when I attempted to do it and discovered its not possible. When I searched for "Control One Stand alone" your video was the first video result in Google. There's also a SoundSwitch FAQ page that states the controller is not stand alone.

1st, I enjoyed the video and information. I appreciate you taking the time to give in-depth information about products. I have been considering a DMX Controller of this nature, and I'm new to dmx lighting. So my question to you is Soundswitch vs ADJ WMX1 Standalone DMX vs American dj Airstream dmx bridge? Which one is the better product or provides the greater benefit. Thanks.

thank you for posting you made a lot of this very clear, one question for you. can a run an scripted song on sound switch and have a couple of fixtures independently hook up to control one and run them as I see fit and it will not interrupt the scripting of the song playing?

Another Great Review Terry. I am wondering if you can quickly dial in a position that you want a moving head to go to. I often program mine to go to a doorway or to the center of a dance floor. With my current DMX software it is pretty easy to set that point up, but often a Couple doesnt find their way exactly to the center of the floor. With regular dmx i can make those small adjustments. Can I do that with Soundswitch quickly, or at all?

Thanks for the details, Terry! This interface makes much more sense than Pioneer's overpriced DMX box that has no controls at all. SoundSwitch should have added wireless DMX; it would be a simple, cheap, and extremely useful addition, that would greatly reduce external clutter. As a Rekordbox user, it's really annoying that I can't use this box. (Up yours, Denon; I'll spend my money elsewhere.)

@CT can you use both DMX and Phillips Hue together? Can you order literally integrate your DJ DMX lighting with your house lighting?
@ClevelandTerry2 жыл бұрын
That is a very good question. I don’t own any hue lighting to test that. Maybe I’ll pick some up.
@PhiMobileSounds2 жыл бұрын
@@ClevelandTerry I have some to test, I just never tried it since the upgrade. I'll try it out myself and see. I was just trying to see if I'd be wasting my time or not... Interestingly enough I used the hue lights (2013) for a gig before I started investing in DMX lighting. I just put the bulbs behind my white skims under the speakers and no one whew the difference at the time and controlled the lights from my tablet. I might have to put them back into rotation and free up the freedom par tri cans I use under my event table and speakers to spread more uprights around the room a little more if this experiment indeed works.

@@ddetongre No sir. I run the micro DMX straight through the SC6000M. I upload the venue from the computer to the SD card in the SC6000M , connect the micro DMX to the player, connect a wireless transmitter to the micro DMX and run everything from the Engine Lighting page on the player. So im still not hearing anything about automated shows or sound/mic activated? Seems to me this requires someone to sit there and run the light show. How many djs have time to run their lights or can really afford to pay a lighting technician? Seems to me in this day and age we should have a program that uses your music to make the light move. I don't need a.concert.light show.but sure would be nice to have something that moves the lights to the beat of the music. I hear there's some companies starting to introduce smart dmc or AI DMX. I think I'll wait on them and for now continue to daisy chain my lights in master slave. This type of dj run controller will be obsolete in 5 years.
