I had seen the movie and loved the soundtrack. I was in the NAVY in '71 and was on temp assignment in Memphis and found the LP in the base exchange. I got two so I could stack A & B sides on a changer. I put them between 2 pillows (Relocation of Government Property) in my duffel to protect them on the flight on and old NAVY plane (DC-6) back to S. Texas. I still have them along with the CD.

Mis padres me llevaron a ver esta pelicula a los 10 años. Aqui en Argentina se estrenó como "Ajuste de Cuentas". Recuerdo 3 cosas: La impresionante música, cuya letra salía subtitulada al castellano; El ritmo poderoso de toda la película, con un "Cuchillo Sánchez" en todo momento querible; Y el inolvidable final, cuando Lee Van Cleef y Thomas Milian se separan. Me entristecí, porque sentí que ya no vería a "Cuchillo Sánchez" nunca más.

I bought a LP in the late 60s with music from this film. Navajo Joe and The Good The bad and The Ugly and a fourth film which has escaped my memory. It got lost in time. It's a long time since I've heard this music. Excellent stuff. Brings back memories. Thank you.

If you haven’t seen the original cut, the version for American theaters isn’t nearly as good. In fact, the amazing pre-credits sequence is made incomprehensible with some brutal editing.
