This was a magic tine for the 20th Century-Fox orchestra. With the advent of CinemaScope and stereophonic sound,it seemed as though all of Hollywood's top composers wanted a crack at a Fox film. There was, of course, the great Alfred Newman, the head of Fox music, but Bernard Herrmann and Franz Waxman also scored one of their best work at 20th. . This was the first time Victor Young, Paramount's star composer, worked for Newman. It was a marvelous romantic score.

I sang this song to my girlfriend one evening at the trevi fountain in Rome on holiday, and she could not stop kissing me, either my singing was so romantic or my singing was so bad she didn't want anyone to hear, either way shes my wife now x

The genius of Victor Young. Imagine if Beethoven had had 20th Century Fox to commission him....

Beautiful score❣️Captures the heart of the Eternal City... Elements of “The Quiet Man,” also composed by Victor Young stream through.

A wonderful 50's soundtrack score! Victor Young was one of the greats whose works need more exposure on CD. One would be The Paleface!

With classic Rome of the 1950's era...how can a viewer not like the view of one of the World's best toured cities? I've seen several movies with Italy's famous city as the setting. Though I've never been there, let alone overseas...it would be great to "feel" that unique romance that the city is famous for. This score is, light hearted...true to the culture of Rome. The movie had a good cast. Bet, Greg Peck got some "tips" in his film he did a year or two later: "Roman Holiday" from the "Three Coins in a Fountain".

"Roman Holiday" was made in 1953, the year before "Three Coins in the Fountain."

The Oscar wining score is something I can happily share with any of my classmates,
Can anyone explain why the song lyrics don’t match the movie since I assume the song was written for the movie? The song says only one will get their wish ( their man or as the song says their valentine), but all 3 girls get their wish!

In my opinion this was superior to the 'overture' music which was good but composed by someone else.
