Vždy mi prináša pocit radosti a nostalgie.

The story about “Cinderella” is known to everybody and saw countless cinematic adaptions over the years. One, which stands out by far (alas on the European continent) is the Czechoslovakian / German co-production from 1971 “Three Nuts / Wishes For Cinderella” (a.k.a. “Tři Oříšky Pro Popelku” / “Drei Haselnüsse Für Aschenbrödel”). The movie established itself as the European pendent to Frank Capra’s 1946’s “It’s A Wonderful Life” and is shown in various countries up and down through the Christmas time, even multiple times at Christmas itself. The music for this classic was written by Czech composer Karel Svoboda, whose style remains very unique and everybody over Europe is familiar with, certainly from various of his contributions for the European soundtracks of Japanese productions, such as “Wickie The Viking” (1974), “Maja The Bee” (1975), “Pinocchio” (1976) and “Nils Holgersson” (1980). The title theme for “Maja The Bee”, sung by Karel Gott would become a celebrated international hit, appreciated throughout all generations. Today, however, we will enjoy Svoboda’s wonderful score for “Cinderella” and prepare our mood for this year’s Christmas season!

Not to forget the castle, in which parts of this classic movie was filmed in - Moritzburg, near the beautiful city Dresden in Germany. The castle currently is decorated like it was during the recording of the movie and will be till January 2024. Worth a visit! ❤🤶🌲

I LOVE it! ♥ I am Norwegian and we watch this movie on our main state broadcasting TV channel (NRK1) *every* Christmas Morning, dubbed *beautifully* in Norwegian by one single man. "Why is he single then?", you might ask? Because that is not what I meant! (If you don't understand the humor, it was based on a Reddit post I read where some guy from another country wondered if it had something to do with our national culture that he needed to be single, and not in a relationship, to be fit to do the multi-voice-dubbing)...

Thank you for this holiday gift! Ten seconds in, I thought, "I *have* to see the film which goes with this music - I sure hope it isn't cinematic garbage." It wasn't. 🙂

You should watch the movie it's from , its very cute. “Tři Oříšky Pro Popelku” / “Drei Haselnüsse Für Aschenbrödel” or Three Nuts for Cinderella. It's a Christmas staple and aired every Christmas morning here in Norway :)

Musiche molto belle Fred.
