This song is a balm. It reminds of years gone by when I, a teenager then, would sit in the living room with my mum and brother to watch the Andy Williams show, of which Moon River was the theme song. Such simple, uncomplicated times they were when I look at our confusing and dark world now spinning out of control. How I long for those times, when a man was a man, and a woman a woman. And the news was credible. There was more truth than lies. But we are now cast away from our foundations.

I was born in 1982. I am a throwback to women like Audrey Hepburn and let me tell you it is very hard for me to fit in anywhere. I don't want to be angry but I feel angry because I am alone in my life and it's not right. I am very much like Audrey Hepburn-fragile, beautiful, elegant, charming. It's hard to be that way in the world which sadly has no values. I miss my grandmother's and the family I used to have. My life is not the sane anymore. There don't seem to be any answers anymore to happiness, not even in the church. People are not real, genuine, and honest anymore.

This is one of the most beautiful songs that you're ever going to hear outside of Classical Music, and this song makes older generations say "they don't make them like this anymore", and i can agree with and see why people who grew up back than would say that. These Classics and Old School songs up to the 70s were great songs, well written, deep, and had a lot of feeling to them. However, with songs that "have a lot of feeling to them" comes sadness, almost psychological torture, if you sit and listen to them too often. Listen to this song, and I was just listening to the theme song for Somewhere in Time, and think about the people who never get to meet someone, have never been lucky in love, and think about what they must be feeling when they hear these type of songs. Music was beautiful in the past, but thank God for more modern music from the 80s till now, and that they are more fast paced, and energetic, and can get your blood pumping, because this music is Beautiful, but with beauty can come heartbreak and depression. Sooner or later you have to put this music in a box and put it where it came from - the past. Only visit them once in a Blue Moon for the sake of your sanity.

Moon River is a real river in Savannah, Georgia, where Mercer (the lyrics composer) grew up. ... At the time, the river was known as The Back River, but was renamed Moon River in honor of the song, and Johnny Mercer's home along the river became known as the Moon River House. This is my favorite song. Years ago, we went to Savannah to visit some friends. We went out to dinner and when we came out of the restaurant, I saw the river and the sign “Moon River”. Crazy as it sounds I want this played at my funeral! Dont know why this song resonated so much for me. I grew up in the 50's and early 60's and this song when it did come out hit me like a ton of bricks for whatever the reason. Even when I served overseas in the US Army in the late 60's I was in love with Audrey Hepburn. Helped me get thru some dark times. And now, even to this day Im haunted by Mancini's music of Breakfast At Tiffany's. Idyllic for sure but what a composer he was leaving such a rich treasure of music for so many to still enjoy. Thank you Thank you Mr. Mancini and Ms Hepburn!

Sencillamente espectacular.

This song (movie) brings back nostalgic pleasant memories for me. My mom kept telling my dad she wanted to see this movie. There were six of us ( I was the oldest child at about age 9) so we always had to wait for movies to arrive at one of the local drive in theaters. Definitely not a kid movie but I remember enjoying it. Maybe because mom was really liking it. It was probably one of two movies shown that night but I dont remember the other one! Just memories of my childhood and family.
