What is it you want/need to update? We make sure our firmware works the first time with hours and hours of testing all CVs and all values, so the need to update the firmware is non-existant. We eliminate all bugs in the firmware before we release and manufacture it. So, I am not sure what you want to update? We have not released any updated features tot he Tsunami2 (and now Blunami) since the V1.2 back in 2017, just a little over a year since it was originally released. So, please clarify. Thank you! ~GB

@@SoundtraxxDCC Why user of locsound need to up date their decoder

So glad that is it finally here. I am still curious about the speed matching within the consist, will it truly adjust them or do I still have to adjust them manually before hooking them up

The speed matching part of the app has not yet been completed. That will come, but as I commented to another post, the need for speed matching in today's BEMF decoders is virtually none. The 3 locos here are using the standard tables and a little momentum and they run fine from 2 different manufacturers! But for now, if you need to do speed matching, use the CVs in the decoder for a better experience that is transferable between devices. I hope this helps. If you need further discussion, contact us at support@soundtraxx.com and we'll be happy to dive deeper into it if you need. Thank you for watching! ~GB

Thanks George. Getting ready to expand my 3 rail with Blunami but quick question. Does the app save the consist or does a consist need setup everytime you go to run the trains.

Can you speed match locomotives on this recent update?
@SoundtraxxDCC
@SoundtraxxDCC 29 күн бұрын
You can certainly speed match decoder using the CVs in the motor control page of the app.. But with BEMF decoders, such as our Blunami, it is not as critical to spend hours doing like we had to in the early days. Back then, you could have a Digitrax decoder in an Athearn BB loco that starts moving at Speed Step 10, but a NCE in a Kato loco would start moving at SS5, or whatever. So, back then, speed matching was mandatory to get a group of locos to run together. But the 3 units on that table, 2 Athearn Genesis and one Proto2000 have not had any adjustments to the speed tables, all stock linear table. This is because the BEMF of the decoder ensures the locos all run at SS1, eliminating the hours of work that was previously necessary. I added some momentum to the decoders and they all run together just fine! But if you want 2 locos to run together holding a piece of paper between the couplers throughout the speed range, you can do that, but it's going to take time and you will need to use the CVs. A later version of the app will be released with the speed matching in the app, but remember, that does not change the internal speed table CVs, it changes the speed command sent to each loco, so from device to device it would have to be done again and again. But if you use the app settings to set the table using the CVs, then it stays in the decoder and your multiple devices will not have to do it. I hope this helps. If you want to dive further, please contact us at Support@SoundTraxx.com and we will be happy to dive into the subject as deep as you desire! ~GB

I have been using the android app and it is great! Question - can you save a consist or do you have to re-consist the locomotives each time you power up the track? I have an A-B-A set of F7s that are always running together.

George...as an after thought...does this version have the Motor Current/Voltage/and how Hot the unit/decoder is getting, with an auto-shut down saftey, on it?
@SoundtraxxDCC
@SoundtraxxDCC 29 күн бұрын
As i mentioned in the previous reply, there is no real 2-way communication from the decoder back. The info is coming from the BT chip, which is only a small part of the decoder and is not 100% accurate anyway. (voltage i think is all it shows.) But there are safeguards in the decoder if it detected an error, it will shut down and flash the lights X times (X is a variable) as an error code to indicate what the issue is. But if it's getting hot, you have bigger issues than the decoder that need to be addressed. (grin!) I hope this helps. Feel free to contact our support department for more information at support@soundtraxx.com Thank you! ~GB

Looks really great George, as I see here the first few questions are about speed matching and it kind of looks like you have that issue licked...? The issue I'm wondering about is if the units get speed matched, would that be the same, or better or worse than load sharing? If there is an issue with any one of the units in the consist....would the others "sense it and adjust their, value or "load" bering to compensate for the differential in the consists actions? This system looks leaps and bounds ...forward...from the past version. And....i know nothing from nothing about it...hmmm...maybe someday? Good Work...and thank you and the rest of SoundTraxx/Blunami for all the tools you've given the model railroad community. 🫶 Happy Holidays to All..!!!

There is not any backwards communication to the app regarding the load. The decoders simply run based on their commands like they do in DCC. These 3 locos from 2 different Mfgs all run well together with the BEMF of the decoder doing the heavy lifting part. So, you put a load behind this and they'll run great! But I'd recommend getting a Blunami and trying it out. You still get the DCC compatibility, so there is nothing to lose! Thanks for the kind words! We appreciate it. Have a great Christmas and Happy Holiday Season as well! Thanks for watching!! ~GB
