If I understand correctly, urushi and it’s derivatives have to be applied in layers to allow for proper curing. Do you ever experience problems with delamination of the layers?

The purpose of applying multiple coats of lacquer, in my personal opinion, is to beautify the finish and add value. Three coats of lacquer are enough to give it the strength to be used. Lacquer has been used as an adhesive since ancient times. You know "kintsugi," the art of repairing pottery. Therefore, there is no concern about peeling off if the paint is applied correctly.
