I was a huuuuuuge fan of Soup, pook, white fang and the whole mishagoss. "Pachalafaka" hysterical. Elbow in the champagne, classic! RIP Soup.

Life was better when Soupy was on. I saw EVERY show on WNEW-TV, 1964-1965, including the infamous Christmas solicitation show which prompted a two-week suspension of his show, and WNEW's stupid decision not to renew his contract. Rest In Peace, Soupy, and thanks for making my lonely adolescence joyful, from the bottom of my heart.

I've seen it on a show recounting that episode. (Too bad I couldn't have seen it originally) lol , soupy was something else!!!!

Soupy was doing what others were just thinking. Fans will notice that Adlai Stevenson and Lady Winifred Toolhouse-Smoot never once took a stage Soupy would next take or had just left; Allen Ginsberg howled at Soupy's suspension, but he didn't have the guts to do so in public. Many of our world's biggest challenges originate from our stasis in Hokey-Pokey etiology, dialectics, raisin deters and Toot Lee Monde, the saxophonist. The paradigms and three penises not everyone can put up, will get you no quarter. The Hokey-Pokey was enough for Martin Van Johnson, N.E.Saylor and Joy DeVeev when they were the Melange O'Troy, but this is then. Then was now. Picture our leaders saying "Cheese" and doing The Mouse. The Soupy Shuffle could pick you right up, but dark forces dipsy-doodle. Soupy warned us.

I love how he comes out of the mouses' hole in the wall at the beginning. Hullabaloo was very creative. For people who don't get it. This song was a satire on bad pop-rock songs of the era. Soupy Sales had a chidren's show that was a satire on children's television shows. People enjoyed it as satire.

Sorry, but this isn't a "satire". This is how bad most post-'Beatles' music was in the US. Nobody knew 'ironic' then!

There were to many songs in the 1960's that were supposed to illustrate some new crazy dance. This is one of those. I do not miss this song. It is silly but not horrible. Soupy is a pretty good comedian though. I enjoyed him and saw him a lot on television. I do not think I have heard "The Mouse", since its release in 1965.

On this day in 1965 {April 11th} Soupy Sales performed the novelty song "The Mouse" on the CBS-TV variety program 'The Ed Sullivan Show'... One week later on April 18th, 1965 the "The Mouse" entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart at position #100; four weeks later it peaked at #76 {for 1 week} and it spent six weeks on the Top 100... Soupy Sales, born Milton Supman, passed away on October 22nd, 2009 at the age of 83... May he R.I.P.

This was actually a very professional , well choreographed dance number. The background arrangement is like as good as you could get back in 1965.... I could easily see Dean Martin or Frank Sinatra singing with this. You can see Soupy wasn't really in it for the publicity. He wasn't a good singer as we can see. Great stuff . five stars.

I think this is the first time I've ever heard this song - I've only read the title in various lists of '60s songs. I liked watching Soupy Sales in the early '60s, but if I'd seen this on "Hullabaloo" a few years later I would've thought it was unbelievably stupid. Actually, maybe I DID see it, but don't remember it.

Seriously, I’d be rich or at least have a family legacy if this guy didn’t steal it… Audit the record books… two weeks before this song came out, a meeting with James Carrick (Jimmy C-note from The Tremelos) is in the calendar. Dude recorded the meeting and then turned it into a song for his show. All my grandpa wanted was for him and his band to be the ones to perform it for the show…
