Yea it’s not about being in the internet age. I’m 28 and even I used to prank call people with my friends and ding dong ditch. People, particularly young kids and teens, etc have always “trolled” people. Only the term trolling is from the internet but the concept has been around forever. Also Steve had to pick up the phone cuz he’s part of the news team and they take tips so it’s his job he’s forced to pick up and listen to this hilarity so I understand why he blew up a bit
