Best Aftershock review so far. I'm convinced, I'll give digital another chance.

Thank you!!! This is by far the best pedal review I ever watched! Straight to the point, very informative, tasteful sounds and good audio quality. Finger and pick, interaction with other effects, what can you want more! : ) Makes me want my OC-2 back! Ordered the After Shock, can`t wait to get it.

Very underrated company and pedals IMO I love love love all the stuff from source audio. Sick review bro as always you just kill it in every area.

I just ordered this, I have a bunch of source audio pedals already, love their gear. I was looking for a midi controllable analog Bass dirt sound, but every option I’ve found was super expensive - I don’t need an analog pedal now, these emulations sound so good, I am sold! Thanks for your bass content man! Love your presets, Super helpful. What is your source audio user name so I can try out your presets ?

Great review!!!! Would it be necessary to use a compressor pedal in conjunction with the After Shock? Or does the After Shock already compress the signal enough? Thanks and regards!!!

Zack. I love your vids. Can’t really find how to change sounds in an aftershock with midi. My planning is an ES8 and an aftershock. I’d like to use a few different drive presets.

I'm not the biggest fan of distortion and I hate fuzz. Is it weird if I buy this just for overdrive and EQ?

Great demo! I've had my Aftershock about a year now and I really dig it.

Great demo. Been looking into what distortion/OD/fuzz pedal I should add to my pedal board. I have an old Turbo Rat but it kills the lows. Been awkwardly relying on the limited OD models present in the Manta envelope filter. Thinking this might be my new box. Thx! BTW, please do a review or tutorial on the DMC 3XL and the Neuro hub, particularly how you use it across your other pedals like the H9, Manta and Mobius.

One comment/question (which you cover a bit in a reply to another comment): you mention that you may remove your other OD pedals and just use this the Aftershock. I'm trying to have as small a pedalboard footprint as possible so I like the idea of that. Sounds like the Aftershock is better in some ways than the Soundblox 2 OCD. I had assumed that the OCD was a newer pedal than the Aftershock, and that it had more/better features, etc. Can you comment?

OK, I am fully convinced now (really, I already was convinced from just watching your review). :-) Ordering one today!!! Wondering where in your signal chain you put this? ...as I now have some similar pedals to consider, though not nearly as many as you...Octavers, H9 (for pitch, modulation, delays), Envelope filter, Chorus/Flanger, AFTERSHOCK?, Iron Lung (vocorder), out to amp/board.

Great review Mr Rizer. In depth and tasteful. When you say you're running distortions in stereo do you mean in parallel? How did you go about copying settings from your OFD into the Neuro App?
@bassplayinggoalie7 жыл бұрын
Zachary Rizer The Neuro App calls it stereo instead of parallel too! Thanks for all the vids Zachary. I've watched heaps of them for synthy hot tips. Keep 'em coming!

Hi Zack, thanks for the great demo! How do you find the Aftershock's Rat model compares to the MXR Bass Distortion pedal? Does the Aftershock have anything that's close to the MXR's LED mode? Blessings!

Does this sound OK plugged into direct-in recording? If so, does it change an active bass impedence?

13:15 info for everyone who wonders if you can store other presets...
@SlavSquatSenpai8 жыл бұрын
As far as the quality of the sounds go, is the Aftershock better than the OFD in modeling? or is it as if Source Audio just copy and pasted the algorithms of the same od's and pasted them into the Aftershock? Also, are the newer presets like gated fuzz 2, DarkGlass B3k, etc, really worth it? I've been considering switching from the OFD, but I'm not entirely convinced..
@SlavSquatSenpai8 жыл бұрын
Ooo, I completely skimmed over the whole EQ thing... That's actually quite a big hitter for me. And I totally agree with the quality. I've run the OFD against the actual pedals and amp od's that it's supposed to emulate, and I honestly almost couldn't tell the difference. Looks like I gotta find a buyer for my OFD, first! Thanks for the info and review.

Do you use published settings in your aftershock or your own customized ODs//fuzzes? And if the second is true, would you consider to publish them? Cheers, keziahj

How are you using to get all the presets with the midi controller and the aftershock? Is it just the app? It seems very versatile with the midi controller, but do you need the separate controller to change the aftershock presets, or can you do it with just the app and the aftershock?
@sc454708 жыл бұрын
+Zachary Rizer are there other controllers that are a little cheaper where you can switch presets/essentially do the same as the DMC?
@jakobjager68787 жыл бұрын
Do you think the Aftershock would replace a z.vex mastotron (because in earlier videos I saw you used one) or even a z.vex wooly mammoth?
@twhilyard7 жыл бұрын
So to change presets via MIDI you have to use the Neuro/Soundblox hub, correct?
@twhilyard7 жыл бұрын
Lame. Cool if you have multiple Souce Audio pedals but otherwise turns a $150 pedal into a $250 pedal.

You have to watch this video with your hand on the volume knob as the vocal mic is almost non existent and the bass volume is WAAAAAY louder. It's a great video for the pedal but the production quality leaves a lot to be desired.

No worries, thanks for taking the time to reply. Question for you ... You obviously have excellent taste and knowledge of high end pedals ... what's you're opinion of the Aftershock VS. the Darkglass pedals like the B3K or the Omicron or Alpha Omega? ... I'm trying to determine which to buy for my board. What do you think?

Hi Zachary! Do you think that the signal, passing through variuos digital devices, could be affected in a bad way?
@ChamiCh7 жыл бұрын
vocal boost/compression, yo. your voice is way quieter than your instrument, makes it harder to listen in quiet environments...
