I can only imagine the team working with that directional toggle switch. It’s possible that there was a different user interface with that select feature planned than what came to be. I could totally see a team working on that, running into a million design challenges and finding a different solution after the parts were planned or something.

Great teardown as usual! Got a couple of this series pedal in the past for repair, all the same issues, tactiles footswitch buttons went bad and broken C clips.

That's a shame as it looks like a lot of careful thought went into the design. Maybe putting something soft between the foot actuator and the switch to absorb peak loads might have helped but then you'd have lost the tactile feel.

I would love a tear down of the Harby Pedals Centauri a $170.00 USD clone of a Klon built in a standard Hammond b box. It claims to use the correct Klon parts. The pre part of the sound definitely has the very, very glassy sound of the original that a lot of designs seem to lose. It is that glassy pre I want. If I got one I would not crank it higher. But ... what is inside would determined my purchase. THANX for your tear down and the history of the units etc. It makes your show not to be missed.

the Analog Device chip is probably the custom made DSP SA601, designed by or for source audio, which has the interesting specs of processing 56-bit DSP. I am not sure, but I suspect these are the same DSP chip used in the new Ventris and Nemesis pedals.

I really like that sophisticated foot switch design. That's probably still cheaper than regular (high quality) foot switches and perhaps also more reliable.

Hi Joe, I am a big fan of your channel! What I am interested in is the Analog Devices part number. Given the age of this pedal, I suspect it is an ADI Sigma DSP series device.This is what will be doing all the reverb effects.

What are these 1/4" jacks? Does anyone know the part number? I can't find these with such a short barrel
