Fantastic video. Nice work with the Oil Can Delay - perfect sound for that riff. Thanks for The Kinks, Andy.

Best Delay Around .... and the best thing is the guys at Source Audio keep working on making it better with updates and new engines! Amazing! Just a little update to the tape mode with a more realistic saturation or wow and flutter and this is the perfect delay

Andy, you looked like you REALLY liked that exp. pdl. Set to feedback! The smile you had said that you genuinely loved what was going on. That's a good advertisement in itself. I've never liked the design, or layout of Source Audio's pedals before, but this one looks great.

Late answer but I've tried both extensively.... boss isn't bad, sounds pretty good in a mix. Also has a looper, although it's kinda lackluster. The Nemesis is on a completely different level. Top tier sound quality and some stupidly deep customization that is actually easy to figure out. Hard to make it sound bad

@@alex9502 The big problem with boss is that their pedals are buffered. And it's not a good buffer. So you lose a lot of tone.

It sounds great but it really needs a screen on the pedal for sow thing this complex
@sourceaudioeffects8 жыл бұрын
The big idea behind this pedal was to make it super easy to use for guys who just want to plug in and play. We specifically wanted to avoid over complicated controls that require scrolling through menus and such. If you really want to dive in and make detailed tweaks, the Nemesis works with the Source Audio Neuro Mobile App (a free download for iOS and Android). With the App you can access a much larger set of controllable parameters as well as 12 additional effect engines including "Oil Can" and "Resonant Delay." The Neuro App is a lot of fun to use and it's super powerful, but the pedal can get tons of great sounds without the App.

Can you switch between presets on the pedal? Or is it via midi?
@sourceaudioeffects8 жыл бұрын
Yes, when the Nemesis Delay is disengaged the Tap Tempo switch can be used to change presets. And yes, the Nemesis can change user presets with MIDI messages. It's possible to save and access up to 128 presets with MIDI program change messages.

Some sounds reminiscent of the old Lexicon Vortex and Digi Timebender in there, but the no PC app is a dealbreaker. Not a mobile guy, and the lack of ability to control it from a PC past generic MIDI....is just perplexing.
@shckltnebay8 жыл бұрын
+Robert Furtkamp you should do some research, read the manual
@moomoomooshit8 жыл бұрын
+Sin sin sinner Their download page has firmware update only for Windows. No control app/librarian etc is a dealbreaker as mentioned. Same reason I didn't grab a Boss DD-500 - there's not the promised Tone Studio support. Being able to control this type of stuff from the desktop in addition to all the other things I have is a dead road.

Robert Furtkamp I really like the sound of the El cap but now the features of the Timefactor are interesting me
@moomoomooshit8 жыл бұрын
Not a big fan of the El Cap (it's got the whole faux tape echo that's about wow+flutter the actual units wouldn't have without breaking, which can be neat for sound processing, but I have rack stuff if I want LFO wobble until the cows come home). Timefactor has been on my radar on and off but considering the H9 instead since it'll net me the whole compact Eventide line in one box if I go Max.

@sourceaudioeffects8 жыл бұрын
+styleomatic We specifically left a digital readout off of the Nemesis because we wanted to create a very straightforward control set. However, if you do want do some very detailed tweaking you can use the Neuro Mobile App (a free download). There you can punch in a specific BPM rate along with a very large set of additional parameters.
@heyhowsitgoing17218 жыл бұрын
+sourceaudioeffects can I also assign other tempo subdivisions (besides the ones on the front panel) that can be tap-tempoed in real time? This would be crucial as I use 8ths more than any other tempo.

Is this analog or digital? I'm seeing "delay engine" so I assume the latter..?
@TimothyPage068 жыл бұрын
+BarnacleButtock Tap tempo, multiple modelled delay algorithms, and presets. Even if the digital were never outright states, this is fairly obviously a digital pedal. That being said, so are most of the really high end reverb and delay pedals on the market.There's some really cool stuff you can do with digital time pedals that you just cant accomplish with analog. :)
@kyle84426 жыл бұрын
Gilmour uses all digital delay rig for his live stuff now. Analog is cool, but if it sounds good it IS good. All about the feels. More reliable than taking vintage gear to gigs. 10 years ago digital wasn't nearly as good as it is now.
