I think this will be my next pedal. I’ve been playing for nearly 20 years, and until a year ago I really only used a preamp pedal. However, I got the SourceAudio Spectrum Intelligent Filter, and absolutely love the versatility and ability to create my own effects with it. They make really great gear, and this pedal seems appealing for the same reasons. They are really putting out great stuff.

the ultra wave is like the West Pest synth in that it really pushes that (west coast synthesis is additive, vs the common Moog subtractive designs most people are more familiar with) foldback/ wave folding sound, which has a very particular character. If they leaned into that for the namesake, it may have driven a different market towards it. I certainly talk it up quite a bit with synth heads.

This pedal is really cool! the synth vibe and the square sinusiod bring much possibilities on their own. The app is a big bonus, really thinking about adding it in my rig.

Please forgive me if I've misunderstood, but is the distinction maybe that, in most "synth" pedals (even the very lovely Future Impact, and maybe the C4 too?) there are still some issues with tracking and glitching (they rre getting better and better, but you still have to play super cleanly). If this is a synth-like sound using only sound processing, might this avoid those issues? i.e. less glitching, even for us mortals. If so, that would be super.

There’s no latency in any of the mentioned pedals. It’s not an issue anymore today

@@basstheworldofficial Hmmm, not latency as such, but on my Future Impact (V3 - I hear the V4 has improved) it does sometimes still glitch, throwing out occasional wild notes that are huge when played through a large PA. It doesn't happen often, but when it does... Oh, boy! Though only very occasionally ..."die kann man kein Mensch zumuten" - they can take your face off. Forgive my rambling - I love the channel and all the great videos you produce, thank you so much. Und viel Glück heute Abend Deutschlaaaaand!

The real secret to THE sound seems to be - the frown. Frank - like others here - does it very well and almost on every take, no matter the pedal. This upside-down-smile seems to be essential to the required sound, as it transmits immediately to the fingers and makes the bass playing - well, u know - really mean, nasty, bad and D.E.E.P. Thanx for the lesson!

All is good, but I don't agree that Compressors are not very interesting, on the contrary.I'm a compressor freak and have loads of them from all sorts(pedals, and yes 80's style Fridge size racks!). I use them all the time for all sorts of sounds and usages. Even my coffee is 'compressed! Take care!
