The first scene is a brain dance, basically, it is VR but it's made with the brain impulse of someone else. Like a video of something that really happened but instead of an outside camera it's everything they felt and thought at the time.

And then you see Davids mother on the news taking the body of that cyberpsycho into the ambulance, which is where she swiped the implant from.

Its like how a few years ago there was a shooting in New Zealand and the shooter strapped on a go-pro and live streamed it. And if you search enough sketchy websites you can find that live stream and watch it. David is basically watching their equivalent of a school shooter from their POV.

Also some things to remember for context, when the eyes glow, it's when they're making/accepting a call or in some sort of hack. And what David was viewing is a "Brain Dance" basically since cyberware is so popular, your last moments in Earth can be recorded and viewed like a movie in first person. It's crazy but also not at the same time

its pure snuff film, only most braindances are heavily tuned to lower the emotional whiplash you would normally feel with many BD's, but underground dealers also sell untuned BD's illegally that have little tunning to reduce the memories load so you experience every feeling that the original memory felt. you can almost liken it with watching a video censored versus uncensored in that you can experience every little detail.

The eyes don't just light up when you make calls, it's everytime the in-built HUD is used. Can be anything from switching on or off the TV (like was seen with his mother) to hacking (like with Lucy in the train) and anything else.

That second half of ep2 till the end of the moon scene is my favorite in the whole show, It feels like the last time the characters were actually free.

Beginning of it was a BD, Brain Dance. They are recordings of events. But it goes further that it also records emotions and pain. It also can go further with editing. It can be manipulated to enhance emotion and feelings to the point of absolute pleasure or absolute pain.

What David was doing in the intro wasn’t a vr game, it was a Brain Dance, commonly called a BD. Basically, it’s a chip you can slot into your head and experience something that happened to someone else. They can be as addictive as drugs: after all, why live in the real world when you can live inside a fantasy?

Another reason they're addictive: they also replicate the recorder's emotional state. So if you're feeling sad over something you can't control (which is pretty much everything cyberpunk), you can just load up the BD that literally makes you feel happy again

Y'all are in for one hell of a ride. I watched this the minute it dropped and it's one of Studio Triggers best. And if y'all havent played Cyberpunk 2077, def give it a try now! It's aloooot better from launch, and Nigh City is almost perfectly adapted from the game to this show

Funny thing is the sandevistan is called a military grade tech here and basically rare. But in the game it's a cheap cyberware lol.

And if those mobs can buy it then it's cheap lol, how else would they be able to buy it? They're cheap and lesser versions but are still sandevistans, Dynalar Sandevistan Mk.1 is literally 6k eddies lmao

@@leverite6127 Nope. Theyre using Kerenzikovs. In game only V and Smasher use Sandevistans. David's Sandevistan also isnt a base model, its a military model. Quite literally twice as powerful as a base model and significantly more powerful than any other sandevistan in the game.

@@ZeallustImmortal kerenzikovs and sandevistan while both slows time are both used by mobs. Tier 3 mobs are the ones that use Sandevistans. And my point of sandevistan being cheap still stands since it's literally 6k eddies, you can't refute that despite it being a very lesser version.
