Today it's PRANK TIME, but is IT? I decide to do a prank on Ninja and Maumau with this cook. Making sous vide pork tenderloin with soda, using coca cola (aka coke) sprite, fanta and ginger ale. This was a fun video with an unexpected result.
HOW TO COOK PORK TENDERLOIN SOUS VIDE
I cooked it for 2:30hrs @ (149°F / 65°C)

Marinading in cokes is pretty common in the South. Most people I know use Sprite or Dr Pepper. This would not be a stretch; people here are just used to grilling or smoking them.

@@Akniy Apple/Pineapple Juice for marinade is also good, but depends on the age of the meat, Apple Juice is good for young and tender meat, while Pineapple is good for tougher meat

dahveed284 but it should be fresh juice, or at least with little sugar. Often in restaurants chefs add fruits to marinades because they have enzymes in them which tenderise the meat, If I am remembering correctly, pineapple has the most enzymes per cubic unit.

If they try it with fresh juices, pineapple is going to be the favorite, particularly for pork. Fresh pineapple juice has enzymes in it which act as fantastic tenderizers!

I’ve always used Coke for my pork shoulder for sous vide carnitas and my Tio Beto uses orange Fanta instead of oranges. But we use the Mexican sodas which use cane sugar instead of the corn syrup. Mexicans have used soda to braise and sear pork in a pan for ages. Its so good and I’m not surprised that you got these results.Great video! Thanks!

I'm not surprised, my friend often uses a marinade of coke sirup, orange juice and tomato for pork and it's great. I guess the reason you didn't get much flavour on the steak was because of the water in the soda.

slow cooking a ham in coke is absolutely incredible, the sugar and the acids in the coke make the ham so tender and tasty it is unbelievable.

Cooking a pork roast meant for BBQ pulled pork in rootbear or DR. Pepper before adding the BBQ sauce adds so much flavor. Its amazing.

In Mexico pork is made called Carnitas with Manteca, orange juice and Coke as well as some other spices, :) So I was expecting the good flavor from Coke
