@@DaveZee01I’m on the dirt bikes, definitely need something bigger for that trip, unless I can pack extra fuel somehow. Only running a 7L tank, can get around 90km I think. I’m base in the Garden Route area.

This Is a Bucketlist item for me.Was that side last year and wanted to do this Section so so bad but Fear got the better of me as i was alone and didn't know what to expect and watching your video i am contemplating on doing it next year around Feb/March as i will be taking a trip solo again that way.Thanx for your Videos/channel as it is very helpfull and informative. But I knew that I just had too keep the rubber side down and shiny side up. Slow and steady wins the race. Feb/Mch it should be dry that time of year. Believe that is their dry season ! It was truly an amazing experience ! Would highly recommend not going through all in one day. Splitting the trip in two was really a good decision. I stayed at Zandvlaktes. Really amazing people who live there

Yeah man it was bloody high! and the gopro is really good at flattening things... so times it by two when you there in person. But yeah you just keep your vision on the road and get into the flow state and yeah that is the best recipe for success

Hey Gean, Thanks so much for tuning in to the channel! Really appreciate it. For finding places to stay, I mostly use Booking.com - their map feature is super handy. I also use Lekker Slaap sometimes. For planning routes, I work with Google My Maps (different from regular Google Maps, which had me confused at first, too!). I use My Maps to build the tracks, but I also have Tracks4Africa downloaded on my phone. I bought it a while back for around R260, and it shows where a lot of the dirt tracks are. When I'm scouting tracks, I turn on the satellite view in Google My Maps. It's amazing how many unmarked dirt roads are out there! Just keep in mind, some tracks may lead to private property, so you might have to skip those. It’s a bit of a hit-and-miss process, but hey-that’s part of the adventure!

Dude That tire selection is sketchy Put your extra tubes in Ziploc bags and tape them closed with ducktape - you'll thank yourself later Chuck that chain lube and get silicon spray - good for 10 000 uses from chain to electrical connections to boots Scotch guard your riding gear Take a small plastic bottle and fill it with car polish and clean your visor with it - keeps you vison 20/20 even in the heaviest rain and bugs don't stick like glue Just my 2c I'll enjoy your tour of this beautiful country 🎉🎉🎉

Woah bro ! Thx for the advice ! Will put my tubes in a ziploc bag and tape it ... have actually wondering about that. Especially with everything being shaken soooooo much ! The Chain Lube is almost done, need to replace it anyway... Silicone Spray is pretty amazing ! Will also give the car polish trick a go. Been struggling with the visor getting dusty and that sucks especially when the sun is hitting from the front

looks like they have repaired the baviaanskloof road-- i dont see any technical /washed away tracks up those steep parts... was the water crossings the most technical challenge you had ?

I believe the part that you are talking about. The road was in bad shape. They had pretty heavy rain season. Unfortunately the GoPro does a very good job at flattening things ... There were parts that was pretty bumpy. Couple of bolts rattled loose ... But when you get on the pegs and flow its a lot of fun. Some parts you just really need to be switched on. Mistake could be really costly. I would say the water crossing was the technical part but there are section of the road especially towards end was washed away.

Dont walk in the middle of a water section. Cars make two tracks ans you should choose a side and walk it. all the rubbish gets pushed to the middle and if you ride there ,the journey could become chalenging.
