Watching this in 2021 and measuring it against the current crop of Blitzboks, the action is a bit slow. This year they seem to be much quicker, nippy and ruthless.

good tournament, NRL Auckland 9's looks like it'll be even better though! it' rugby league though, not union.

rohan_WT never even knew there was a different format till I moved to northern England from south Africa 10 years ago, tried to get into league but can see why union is a bigger game. I don't get the point of 9's either. 7's is for a faster game halving the team spreading the field. But from 13 to 9, just don't get the point.

Rugby Sevens players* ... these guys normally play in the back line mostly as centres or wingers , usually the fastest players on a normal 15's side.

That's a false assumption. I am 6ft0 230 pounds and halve of these players are my size and bigger. Keep in mind Sevens players are generally smaller than the 15s rugby players who are monsters. Keep in mind rugby pitches are much bigger that NFL pitches and NFL guys are all wearing pads. But to finally cap it off, rugby players and NFL players are all from the same specie, so it is stupid to think NFL guys are so much different or better, and vice versa.

Lol they look tiny with no pads, and because all of them are generally the same size as each other. Look at some 15s rugby players.
