HI, If you intend to use the drone for commercial use, i.e. take a picture or video and planning to generate any sort of income from it, then you need to register

The USA is the largest commercial drone market, but requires no ROC. They have a LAANC system and there is no good reason we cannot do the same. Gate keeping 101.

No drones heavier than seven kilograms? We use drones to spray cops that weigh more than twenty kilograms. If you do make money from your drone footage (in the future). Then no one will try to prosecute you. I doubt if anyone ever have been prosecuted for flying a drone in South Africa. Although, officially, you do need a license for drone inspections.

SA laws need a major wake up !!! there is no such thing as a mini drone in SA . A drone is a drone in SA no matter how big or small It costs more than R85 000 to get a pilots licence in SA A wedding photographer needs to undergo a full medical to obtain a licence to take a wedding photo with his mini drone SA is a joke !!!!!!!!

Yes if you fly commercially (and that is for any drone including a sub 250 gm drone)
