Great tips; thanks Russ! Another tip for more control when landing is switching the fly mode to cinema on the last few feet. This allows for smaller and smoother moves to get it to land on the pad in case it's a bit off.

I heard the word “contrast” 11 times in the instructions and 2 more times when you were telling us about the give away. I’m located in Fort worth, TX. I have an Ecoflow plus Booster and the solar panels. They are great and they got me through several power problems during power outages from weather problems. Once again, Ecoflow is the bomb. As everyone knows, practice is very important for drone shooting. What can be recommended here furthere is while staying indoor you can get a drone simulator called SimuDrone. You can use your own DJI remote controller for practice. Thanks any way.

My phone battery died very quickly for whatever reason and my mini 2 flew off! I kept my cool, ran inside to try charging to reconnect. Went back outside hoping return to home would work. The DJI controller began beeping and I heard the drone returning overhead. What a relief!

When I was a beginner, the landing pad was a great tool to practice manual returns and landings. One you get comfortable with that, hand launching and landing is much easier to do.

Thanks, Russ for all these awesome videos, I'm a 100% beginner, I have never flew a drone before and I'm currently researching everything I should know before I pick up my first drone ever, the new DJI Mini 3 Pro. I wanted to start with this hobby a long time ago but was still uncomfortable regarding safety and losing the drone. With the Mini 3 Pro, I have the feeling it is the perfect compromise between price, features, and safety. So if you want to help beginners like me, everything which helps us to gain confidence to not lose the drone, for example, best ways to avoid obstacles, how to react when losing connection, how to respond in unforeseen situations like sudden strong winds, rain or whatever else can happen. Also maybe a guide for the first settings in the DJI software. And I also counted 13 times "contrast" and I'm actually from Germany, so not sure if I even can take part in this raffle. Wish me luck for my first big challenge with my drone, I'm flying to Madeira island beginning of June where most of the Mini 3 Pro release trailer was filmed and I hope I can also film some of the same or similar scenes. Would be an awesome start for this lovely hobby. BIG THANKS!

The best part of a land pad is also accomplished by using my drone case for take off without grass or sand being involved with flight. I do hand landings from my Mini3 pro from the tail (grasping) battery section thus avoiding bottom sensors.

The landing pad is a good level, clean and obstruction free spot. I'll always go through menus after turning on so the drone isn't picking up hitchhiking bugs. When it comes to gusty conditions the pad at least can be a safety feature in case a gust gets to it when setting down.

First off Russ great video, I have been flying drones for a very long time I have a little over 900 hours combined flight time with many different drones. I fly recreationally, commercially, and as a first responder (fire department) I never thought of the contrast /shadow cast by many different things when taking off, what a great tip. I now have to rewrite my training program for the Syosset fire Department to include that little nugget of information. I believe you said contrast 13 times.

13 times you said "contrast" - from the Salt Lake City area. Thanks Russ for your efforts in the videos you produce. I passed my part 107 test a couple of weeks ago and am really looking forward to getting out there and doing some more flying!
