I always had the idea of what it would look like if South Africa became a federal state. I agree that greater autonomy would be extremely beneficial. This was a great talk and very insightful.

I was pretty disappointed right in the beginning when the first gentleman speaking were so blatantly just referring to "Anglo South Africans" and Indians and to in part Blacks jumping in to fight against the destruction of the shopping centre during the July 2021 riots. Either he is also living in the past like the ANC, and still think there is some major divide between Afrikaners and English South Africans, or he is just another woke person, seeking to ascertain his leftist support? It is these tiny things that keeps on dividing our society. He clearly has no idea how people from all colours of this nation stood together in Gauteng during that time. Lyttelton Manor, for example (I very mixed Anglo/Afrikaner area + others) went all out to safeguard one of their local shopping centres. Perhaps he need to move to a new area? His area appears to be very toxic! What is more disturbing is how the main speakers did not even bat an eye lid about this. Lost their sense of objectivity? Or also a bunch of old men living in the past? We need to have respect here for everyone if we are going to carry this nation forward, no matter how much of a decorated speaker you are. There are plenty of wonderful Afrikaners out there who also wish to break free from the current regime, who are also upset how things are going and trying to avoid the age-old conservatism that is plaguing all angles of this country (oh and believe me the Anglo South Africans are just as guilty!) But, thankfully the rest of the video was okay. BizNews, however, might want moderate their content and speakers a bit better in the future. You're a respected news agency. Maintain it! Don't let little insinuations like that audience member and speaker's lack of response, destroy what is left. If someone as "insignificant as me" could pick up on it, probably thousands others did too.

I was thinking about this about an hour ago. This would be better because it gives opposition parties more room to show off what they can do and allows politics to cater to each region according to what it needs. Gauteng, the Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal are very urban and thus need different laws and development plans than the Eastern Cape and Northern Cape which may need more money directed to them and different laws that encourage businesses.

@@fullmetaltheorist I agree wholeheartedly. Kinda like the US. How a lot of people fed up with high taxes and crazy laws in California and other states move to Texas or Idaho. Western cape is the prize nowadays. There's more semigration towards it also. A federal system is the most ideal. In our current system , mediocre municipalities and provincial governments can get away with a lot of things.

I believe it's mostly a sociological problem caused by the extremely high unemployment rate. I lived in Canada when the unemployment rate went from 6 percent to 13 percent and the rate of crime jumped dramatically. In South Africa our unemployment rate is one of the highest in the world and it doesn't help when thousands of illegals pour over our borders from the rest of Africa.

Ok, South Africa has an election in 2024; could the country collapse before then? Yes, I think so and if it does then we are very likely to see some form of armed conflict. As the speaker said, the unrest last year was well planned and it looks like agitation is on the up. Now rank and file voters will look at these events and feel very worried, the government will not be able to protect them and it is at this time that the public should wake up and recognize that the only way to ensure their peaceful future will be through self determination and more specifically full independence. This is the only way. Greater autonomy for the provinces will count for nothing because that will just be inviting people from other provinces to want part of the provinces success and this will just be more of the status quo. The DA being a government in a new South Africa is a pipe dream. They will soon find that they are way out of their depth. They are part of the problem and along with the ANC needs to disappear into history. I will be happy to expand further on my reasons for this view if asked. The unitary state model has proved to be a total failure and other solutions are now needed. Hopefully South Africa's voters will wake up and look for solutions to safeguard their future. Voters though are very gullible and extremely naive and part of me thinks, that in 2024 there will be more of the same.

I wonder what will be the general political climate after we remove the ANC in power and we've sort out our domestic issues, many of us black South African our end game is African unity and prosperity our black integrity depends but I'm curious if white Africans will join in and call for a unified Africa that will be prosperous all our integrity really depends on it.

Impossible all together. Look at the reality of Africa let alone South Africa, and tell me that Africans respect eachother enough to stop being the most violent group around. Crime in SA is largely almost entirely, African. The most people killed are black by black. Neither can you have prosperity as RW Johnson said, when it's always the typical African nationalist regime, and the rulers enrich themselves and rule over the rest. For decades radical communist or Socialist regimes have brought only the same violence and ruin to their country's again and again. If you want to learn, go to a channel called African Biographics. Plus Africa has many cultures, people with different experiences, opinions, beliefs, none of which would want anything to do with a untited Africa. We cannot impose our unrealistic ideology on people who have nothing to do with us. Leave them be. We can't even tolerate Zimbabweans or Nigerians around here, what about thousands of others? Ridiculous. This self obsession has to stop. For white folks, there is no black or white, there is people, with different ideas and methods. There is no, racialism. Nations are not built on such foundations nor function on them. What matters is progressiveness. Sadly much of the majority of this country, are too preoccupied with pride than actually evolving with the world. Going as far as to even reject the world. In which case the world doesn't care. It will move on and leave old relics to die. And when I look at what a shithole this country has become, what a chaotic place Africa has always been, how can you call yourself people of the land, want the land, and yet treat it so poorly? It is blatently obvious that for all the African peoples talk of pride, they sure turn a blind eye to their self inflicted failures, their flaws, skim over their own history to paint themselves as innocent, and openly criticize the world but being unable to handle it when the world criticizes back. Far too much ego and too little realization that the world won't and will never give a damn or apologies. It doesn't value arrogant pride with nothing to show for it. Africa isn't known for anything glorious or revolutionary. SA was, not anymore though. It's starts with a change of mindset.

I'm not really interested in a unified African identity at all. I'm not interested in unified European identity either. But this is the fundamental difference between us and you. We want to be individuals and the same goes for coloureds and Indians. Minorities and Bantus look at the world fundamentally differently. We minorities have far less of a need to be part of a group. We're Westerners. You are not and you make it clear to us every day that you never want to be. I never want to have an African Union passport. And btw, if you think a unified Africa is going to be a good idea, you have another thing coming. Free trade and movement is going to mean every black African and his dog are going to move to South Africa and take your jobs or have South African businesses send jobs away to cheaper labour elsewhere on the continent. South Africa will be the Britain of the European Union. And let's be honest. You lot don't see us as African, anyway.

@@dannyarcher6370 The fact that you think the label "coloured" refers to people who are "Westerners" shows the LSD-laced fantasy people like you live under. Hilarious. The only group over-represented in the SA prison population is the coloured population. You came up with a fantasy because you cannot face the reality that the Euro population faced even in 1910: There isn't one constituent part of the Union of South Africa that has a Euro majority. This was true in 1910. This is still true in 2022.

I don't like how we are entertaining the Cape Independence debate. We are contributing to the polarization in our society when we do this. Secondly, it is an implicit admission that we don't think that those who support our views can win elections, plus we do not believe in democracy because if we did, we'd accept the results and work on getting to get our message out to the South African people. Because of our history and cultures, SA is generally a moderate society, therefore I have no doubt that we will elect a democratic liberal government in the near future. The Cape Independence debate is an unneeded distraction.

A section of the country wants to break off and avoid going down with the ship with how the government has run things, and with how poorly the majority vote. I wouldn't blame them because if the ANC flops, it's gonna take years to fix anything, and the majority and the millions of dependents are gonna grow impatient after a couple moths, and before long have miniature versions of the same old commie national radical bull parties popping up spewing more of the same old rhetoric, and being Nazi's. Burning shit down and once again labeling everything as a white person problem blah blag blah. These people are always gonna be the same old cli che. Overall I don't see why anyone should bath mouth the Capes choice. It's only logical to wanna break off with how SA has a history of things only getting worse. Our population isnt too bright, and is far to self obsessed and ripe with arrogant pride.
@dannyarcher6370

_Secondly, it is an implicit admission that we don't think that those who support our views can win elections,_ They can't. Look around you. Coloureds and Indians abandoned the ANC and started supporting the DA because they realised they like Western values which the ANC and Bantus in general do not. Between 65% and 70% of all coloureds, Indians and whites vote for the DA. Less than 10% of Bantus do. You can wish for that not to be the case until you are blue in the face but that reality if not going to change. The minorities are Westerners. The Bantus are not. And they are most definitely not LIBERALS.

@@SpencerCourtis Yes, you build a country through hard work. A lot of people who are connected with the ANC and others seem to think that economic policy should be conducted on the basis of raiding the bank and simply giving the money to poor people. Well what happens when they've spent all the money and there's nothing left in the bank? Any country has to have capital assets that create income and jobs and pay taxes to the govt for public services. If you raid everything that creates wealth the country will cease to function and the population will be consigned to permanent destitution.
