I've seen many people comparing this man with people like Maxwell, Jos Buttler, Suryakumar Yadav etc. Yeah surely they are amazing players. But what sets AB apart from all of them is his versatility. He is someone who can play 220 balls on Australian soil in the fourth innings to save a test or 297 balls to score just 43 in India on a pitch that looks like a pool of dust. But the same man has hit all his ODI centuries at over 100 strike rate, holds the record of the fastest ODI fifty, century and 150, has once hit 149 runs in just 7.2 overs and accumulated 5000+ IPL runs at a strike rate over 150 while maintaining 40 average. Holds the record of most man of the match awards till date. That's what versatility is all about. The man who can play all the shots from any cricket textbook and play all those unorthodox 360° shots to manipulate the field and get runs for fun. Abraham Benjamin de Villiers, the man who is the epitome of a complete batsmanship.

I am following cricket from a long time. From the time AB has retired from cricket, I swear I haven’t seen any player playing those shots AB used to play. Cricket has really not been able to produce another AB .. Many great players left but we found similar play style players but there is absolutely no one who can reflect what AB used to do …He was way ahead of his time. He came , he conquered and went. Absolute legend
