that doesn't make sense. south africa as a concept has only existed since 1910. the ANC was formed in 1912. before that it was a group of different terrirories with rivaling power struggles, both local & european

Starting from the Western cape and into the interior, Europeans sought to supplant the natives from their lands and met with resistance. The same thing you see in Palestine since a fake Israel was created by the British. Robben Island as a prison did not start with Mandela for that matter, it began way back as soon as freedom fighters were incarcerated there from the Western Cape.
