because of the migratory patterns around africa, anything is possible. there are people who've discovered ancestry in e. africa and n. africa. i mean, present-day angola is right next to namibia. european-created borders don't mean anything.

Remember present day Angola was also involved in the slave trade. With people migrating before borders it could be that some of his ancestors were taken from the region of Angola whose people might have migrated further South and became part of the Basotho people.

And you will find out how some of our next door neighbors are actually people from home who were forced to migrate because of circumstances of the time. @@michaelthabanipitsi3902 but no Basotho were scattered during those times. There was a great emperor during that time who defeated the Zulu army on multiple occasions as they tried coming to the nation of Basotho. After defeating those Zulu warriors he offered food, shelter and family to them and they later transitioned into Basotho. His name is King Moshoeshoe. Research. The same King defeated the Boer Army on 4 occasions and the British Army on 2 occasions. That is the reason Lesotho was never colonized. Moshoeshoe was the greatest Emperor in Africa but he is not given credit because he was not a power monger. He was a diplomat and did not seek conquest but he knew his land and was very tactical and knew how to defend his territory well. In my observation the white man credits Shaka Zulu because he was brutal to his own Zulu people and he was an expansionist. And with such a well known evil African leader it makes it acceptable of what they came here in Southern Africa and did as well. So that is why they promote him instead of promoting the diplomatic leader who showed nothing but love to his people.

99.1% Sotho😳🙆♂️ this confirms what I always thought. Black people from South Africa are indigenous to the South African Soil. This idea of us originating from CentralWest Africa is flawed. It’s a theory created so that we don’t feel native to this land so that they can claim it for themselves. Nowhere in our black history does it say we migrated from the North of Africa. It’s always the white mans school curriculum indoctrinating is that we are a monolith and we simply aren’t. We came from the South African soil. Even the great Credo Mutwa said that we’ve been living on this South African soil for hundreds of thousand of years. He says human life began in South Africa and it makes sense to me. We are the originals.

Welcome home Ntate Roscoe. Ntate is the South African Sotho name for father, dad, Mr of as Americans call them like “pops”. Welcome! 🇿🇦 I’m Sotho myself!🤗 “O amolehile hae” which means you’re welcome here at home. I normally watch this channel. But I was just a bit distracted by the sound this time around. It was a little hard to hear 👂 what was being said. Could you maybe next time use a lapel mic next time yo just diffuse the surround sound, and makes everything audible.
@lady-jn3mf3 жыл бұрын
We call him Ntate= father Dowling, we find it very disrespectful to identify the elders by their first names, it is just taboo and it is not done here at home on the other hand Mark(Abuti Mark=Brother Mark and Ausi=sister Latasha ,but cause already she has a title as a Dr well it is Dr Latasha),but I just love how well blended you are in South Africa that you don't even try hard to fit in. like I see you guys that you really are at peace, I always laugh when you say that you never looked forward going back to the states.lol

He do got BANTU features though, not YORUBA. makes sense.

I have never seen anyone looking yoruba from this channel. Black Americans don't look like any of our tribes in Africa and there is nothing wrong with that, so don't come here with your nonsense mindset and try ruin this comment section.
@classicgodlo91683 жыл бұрын
@@mkdempisi No, dont get me wrong. I didn't mean it in a harsh way brother. Was simply just agreeing to this brother's findings of him being a Sotho descent. And also, BANTU and YORUBA are not Tribes, they are ethnic groups, hence I was agreeing that he has BANTU features, because BASOTHO is a Tribe that comes from the BANTU Ethnicity. Same as Igbo, Fulani comes from the YORUBA Ethnicity. But yes, all Africans are Tan to jet black, but the ethnicities are not the same. That's why people trace their DNA's for

Yorubas are Bantus dude… Yoruba is a tribe like Basotho. We are all Bantus from the Great Lakes of Congo to South Africa. Only East Africans and some mixed race people like (Fulani, Pular) carry a different genetic code. Yet they are still indigenous to the continent.
@makteko3 жыл бұрын
@@singuensful Yes we are all one people but by the definitions used here, Yoruba are NOT Bantu, we are 2 groups that are part of the Niger-Congo group. A simple google should clarify this for you.

YORUBA is from West Africa. But YORUBA are also Bantu. In the Bible they were referred to the Northern Kingdoms. While Southern Africa was Southern Kingdoms.
